Bryan Danielson has pushed himself into a corner at AEW All In. He will be challenging Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Title at Wembley Stadium and has said that if he loses, he will retire.

That has sort of put a dampener on things given that he is such a beloved star, not only in AEW but in the wrestling world. One can understand why he would be thinking of retirement. He has had issues with his neck, something that he brought up recently.

In this article, we will be taking a look at three such signs that hint at the former WWE star retiring from in-ring competition after AEW All In.

#3. Getting neck surgery later this year

As mentioned above, Bryan Danielson has revealed that he was almost sure he would need neck surgery later this year. He has already retired once when he was in WWE with injury-related issues and would want to be extra careful when it comes to his health.

He revealed that fact when speaking with Jim Ross earlier this month. He was looking back at his career spanning 24 years, mentioning how he had to do 'crazy' stuff just to get noticed in the early days of his career.

He said:

“Even the way I’m feeling now, I mean, the odds are I’m gonna have to get neck surgery before the end of this year. That’s the reality of it. That’s something that I’ve accepted is coming down the pike relatively soon.” [1:55 - 2:13]

#2. No longer under AEW contract

Bryan Danielson is also in a very peculiar place when it comes to his contractual situation in AEW. His contract reportedly officially ended on August 1 and he has since been working in the company without a deal in place.

The reasons for him not yet signing a deal are not clear but Tony Khan would love to keep him in the company. The fact that he has allowed his contract to run down should give a hint that Danielson wants to retire and that could be why he inserted that clause in his match against Swerve Strickland.

#1. Bryan Danielson wants to spend time with his family

Bryan Danielson has made no secret of the fact that he wants to spend more time with his family. He has always spoken about how he promised his daughter that he would retire once she turned seven years old.

Given that he has an impending neck surgery coming up, and the fact that he wants to spend more time with his family, one cannot fault Danielson for wanting to ride off into the sunset at Wembley Stadium.
