Forbidden Door 2024 is right around the corner, and there are several matches where a lot is at stake. From the culmination of rivalries to the implosion of factions, many surprises could unfold at the event.

Numerous storylines and subplots will be at play in New Jersey, with top groups like Blackpool Combat Club and The Patriarchy expected to be featured heavily. Mercedes Mone and Mariah May will also be in action.

In this article, we will take a look at three stars who could turn heel and two who could turn babyface at Forbidden Door.

#1 Claudio Castagnoli could turn heel at Forbidden Door

Things have not been good between Claudio Castagnoli and Bryan Danielson, as they have had many disagreements in recent months. In general, there has been a lot of discontent, and that is shown in how the Blackpool Combat Club functions.

Things got heated again on Dynamite when Castagnoli lost his match against PAC and confronted Danielson, asking the latter not to look at him in a certain way. With The American Dragon having a match against Shingo Takagi at Forbidden Door, there could be a chance that Castagnoli will play spoilsport and betray his stablemate.

#2 Mercedes Mone might embrace her dark side

Mercedes Mone has been a low-key heel since she came to AEW. The CEO's promos and demeanor showcase that she has all the tools to be considered a heel. However, she is technically still a babyface.

Ever since she defeated Willow Nightingale to become the TBS Champion, fans have seemingly begun to dislike her on-screen character. Mone will be taking on Stephanie Vaquer in a Winner Take All Match at Forbidden Door. Hence, The CEO could see this as the perfect opportunity to embrace her dark side.

#3 Mariah May could become a vicious heel

Mariah May is in a dilemma, given that two of her best friends are going to face each other at Forbidden Door. Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa will lock horns for the AEW Women’s World Championship.

During the contract signing last week, it was made evident by Shirakawa that May had to choose between either her or Storm. Given that being under Storm would mean she would always be the second in command, May could turn heel to side with the Japanese sensation at Forbidden Door, enabling the champion to become a full-fledged fan favorite.

#4 Killswitch might finally become a babyface

Killswitch has been integral to The Patriarchy's success, allowing Christian Cage to move to the top of the food chain in AEW. Despite his contributions to the faction, the masked star is always berated by Cage, and the insults could get to him at some point.

With Cage favoring Nick Wayne over Killswitch, the former WWE star could use it as the perfect opportunity to break free.

#5 Kyle Fletcher could turn face

The Don Callis family will be keenly watching what happens when Will Ospreay takes on Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship at Forbidden Door.

Things have not been fine between Ospreay and Callis in recent weeks. Hence, Konosuke Takeshita and Trent Beretta could attack The Aerial Assassin on June 30. Fletcher might not help his stablemates in the assault and instead assist Ospreay, forming a credible duo.
