AEW kicked off 2025 with Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen on New Year's Day, continuing its ongoing storylines and staging some new exciting developments. While the promotion holds a stacked roster of wrestlers and arguably does not need many new signings on that front, Tony Khan could make an exciting addition to his company's non-wrestling personnel by bringing in former WWE personality, Samantha Irvin.
Irvin broke into the wrestling world through her remarkable work as an announcer in WWE. Her dynamic, vibrant, and powerful introductions to WWE Superstars and her performance in the sports entertainment juggernaut in general garnered her significant praise from audience members and industry veterans alike. It came as a shock to many, therefore, when Irvin exited WWE in October 2024.
Since then, the 35-year-old has been connected to rumors of a potential move to AEW, especially in light of her fiancé Ricochet debuting in the promotion last year. Although The One and Only has stated that Irvin is unlikely to join him in All Elite Wrestling, Tony Khan could nonetheless make her a compelling offer to feature her on his product in various capacities.
On that note, let us take a look at three things Samantha Irvin could do if she joined AEW.
A former WWE writer just went after JBL for his comments HERE
#1: Samantha Irvin could manage Ricochet's singles career in AEW
The potential reasons for Samantha Irvin's departure from WWE were a topic of much speculation among pro-wrestling fans. This led the Massachusetts-born personality to reveal that she did not "like announcing", suggesting that the Stamford-based company's unwillingness to utilize her to do more may have played a part in her exit.
Interestingly, the former RAW ring announcer's fiance Ricochet claimed in a recent interview that Irvin had wanted "to be a character, be in a story". An opportunity for her to play such a character in AEW has now emerged with The One and Only's heel turn this week on AEW Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen, where Ricochet left Swerve Strickland in a bloody heap.
While this transformation may go a long way towards improving The Future of Flight's character work, he could certainly benefit from having a manager to aid him in his promos and in further fleshing out his new persona. Such a role could be the perfect means to introduce Samantha Irvin to AEW programming. An easy entry point for her could be her helping Ricochet defeat Swerve in a potentially imminent matchup between the two.
#2: Samantha Irvin and Ricochet might join The Hurt Syndicate
Ricochet's rivalry with Swerve Strickland developed on the heels of The New Flavour's still-unresolved business with Bobby Lashley and The Hurt Syndicate. Incidentally, MVP had extended an offer to The Human Highlight Reel to join the faction, an offer that was later aggressively rescinded on Dynamite: Holiday Bash 2024.
However, now that Ricochet has seemingly unleashed his new, violent mean streak against one of their biggest opposers, the Syndicate could decide to admit the decorated high-flyer to their ranks after all. Such a move could result in Samantha Irvin being included in the stable as well.
Irvin could, in storyline, approach MVP, Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin to negotiate their initiation into the group. She could also learn a lot from The Franchise Playa and hone her skills on the microphone as a wrestling character, essentially becoming a second spokesperson of The Hurt Syndicate over time.
#3: Tony Khan might appoint Samantha Irvin GM of Ring of Honor
While addressing rumors surrounding her aforementioned WWE exit, Samantha Irvin had expressed her interest in the role of a wrestling manager, writing:
"Announcing was only supposed to be my way in. I wanted to manage, maybe even become a general manager one day."
While such an opportunity has eluded Irvin so far, Tony Khan could grant her one by appointing her the General Manager of AEW's sister promotion, ROH, at some point down the line. Irvin's addition to ROH television could bring more eyes to its product, which TK could shake up by presenting her as an intriguing on-screen authority figure.
It remains to be seen whether Samantha Irvin will ever appear on AEW programming, and how the company's creative team might make use of her talents.
