Bobby Lashley's imminent AEW debut has been one angle that fans are eagerly awaiting as this could happen at any moment in the coming weeks. Lashley was previously signed with WWE before his move.
There have not been many major teases of this on the promotion, but The All-Mighty will be looking to reunite with his former comrades as part of The Hurt Syndicate. It seems till now, MVP is timing all of this correctly, as they look to take over the locker room.
Shelton Benjamin is set for action tomorrow night against Sammy Guevara, and MVP will surely be at ringside. Here are some ways Bobby Lashley could get involved and make his debut.
#1. Provide an assist to his comrade
Last week, Shelton Benjamin made his AEW in-ring debut against Lio Rush. The Gold Standard proved to be formidable, as his clear size advantage helped him secure the win.
The same can't be expected from his bout with Sammy Guevara tomorrow night. The Spanish God is a former TNT Champion and someone who may not go down as easily. While it is difficult to bet against Shelton, Bobby Lashley could get involved to make a statement to the locker room and give an inkling of this faction's strength.
He may also simply join in and launch a post-match attack on Guevara. This show of force on him, and whoever comes to his aid will surely send shockwaves to the locker room, as yet another dominant force has arrived in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
#2. The first phase in the feud between Bobby Lashley and Swerve Strickland could begin
For a few weeks now, the story has been Swerve Strickland rejecting MVP's offer and seemingly making an enemy out of the newcomers. With the former AEW World Champion looking unfazed, the group could plan out a way to send a message to him.
Currently, Strickland is set to face Shelton Benjamin next week at Fright Night Dynamite. But before then, they could remind him why they're a threat by bringing in The All-Mighty.
Bobby Lashley could make his way to AEW Dynamite and launch a backstage attack on him. This would be him softening up Swerve for Shelton, and also hinting at the two of them locking horns when all this is said and done. Such a statement by The Hurt Syndicate may leave Strickland rethinking his decisions behind the scenes.
#3. Business could pick up for The Hurt Syndicate
Since MVP arrived in AEW, he has been actively looking for clients to add to his faction. He introduced Shelton Benjamin as his business partner, but they have yet to be successful in bringing in other clients.
Bobby Lashley could come in as another business partner of theirs, and one who could help them convince other members of the roster to join them. Someone who he has a high chance of bringing in could be his former manager Lio Rush.
In WWE, Rush was the hype man for Lashley during their run together. To this day, the former WWE Champion speaks of him highly, and he could look to recruit him. MVP handed out his business card to Rush last week, and with Lashley on board, this could prompt a reunion between the two.
The former WWE cruiserweight is currently affiliated with Top Flight, but with disharmony plaguing the group, he could turn to other options, and give up on helping them.
At this point, everything remains speculation as Bobby Lashley has yet to make his official arrival at AEW. But should he do so this week, or in the coming weeks, he'll surely be a game-changer and someone members of the locker room need to watch out for.
