Following a successful in-ring return last weekend, Kenny Omega is set to make his return to AEW Dynamite tomorrow night for the first time in over eight months. But a lot has changed since the last time he was on the show.
With a new era of the company beginning, The Best Bout Machine may need to get himself accustomed to the place he helped create. The last time he was around, he barely spent time there, as he was the victim of an attack by The Elite.
Kenny Omega is back this time for good, and he'll look to once more re-introduce himself to the landscape of the company. Tomorrow night, he may run into several familiar faces. Here are four stars that Omega should confront during his return to Dynamite.
Will John Cena beat Ric Flair's record? A former WCW Champion thinks so HERE
#1. Kazuchika Okada
Two weeks ago, at Worlds End, Kenny made an appearance following the conclusion of the final of the Continental Classic tournament. He once more assumed his role as an EVP, and he was the one who awarded tournament-winner Kazuchika Okada.
The two have had a rivalry spanning several years. The Rainmaker signed with the company in March 2024 and even played a part in the attack on Omega by The Elite back in May. Tomorrow night, Kenny could confront Okada and have their first verbal confrontation.
They could hint once more at a blockbuster match somewhere down the road, potentially at All In in July. This will give ample time for a buildup between the two of them. In the meantime, they can focus on other rivals in the meantime.
#2. The Young Bucks
Back in March, The Young Bucks not only took their roles as EVPs more seriously, but they also restructured The Elite. They fired Kenny Omega, suspended 'Hangman' Adam Page, and brought in Kazuchika Okada and Jack Perry to replace them.
The Bucks have not had a proper talk with Kenny since they attacked him eight months ago, and he could look to have a conversation with them seeing as how he was back as a company EVP now.
After winning the IWGP Tag Team Titles, the Jackson Brothers have hinted at appearing on Dynamite with them. Omega could use this chance to finally confront his former best friends and talk about their situation. It remains to be seen whether he'll want to fix things or begin a feud with them.
#3. 'Hangman' Adam Page
The last time Kenny Omega was working full-time in AEW, 'Hangman' Adam Page was coming off the second part of his feud with Swerve Strickland. At the time, he had not yet reached his boiling point and shifted to this new unhinged persona of his.
Omega could run into his former best friend tomorrow night and finally see face-to-face just how much he had changed due to recent events. Recently, Christopher Daniels offered his sympathy to Hangman but this instead turned into a heated exchange between them.
It is still unclear if the same can be said about Kenny Omega, seeing as they had a much closer friendship in the past. Seeing as Hangman has severed his ties with The Elite as well, he and Omega may find some common ground.
#4. Kenny Omega steps up to Jon Moxley
One of the main things that has changed in AEW during Kenny Omega's absence is that Jon Moxley and the Death Riders have seemingly taken over the Jacksonville-based promotion. They have both the world title and the world trios titles, and it doesn't look like they are going anywhere anytime soon.
Several stars have tried their hand at taking them down, but no one has been successful yet. Mox and Omega have had their fair share of bouts across the years, and with the company at stake now, Kenny may look to step up as one of its pioneers.
The Young Bucks have backed away from the situation, but one more EVP remains, and he could do everything in his power to change the current predicament. This could begin another war with the likes of Kenny, Rated-FTR, and other individuals looking to take down the Death Riders and all the gold they have.
Fans will have to tune in tomorrow night for Kenny Omega's long-awaited return to AEW Dynamite. It is still unclear as of now what his next course of action will be, but all could be revealed soon.
