Stars like Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, and Penta El Zero Miedo left AEW this year. Some more wrestlers from Tony Khan's roster might be on the verge of saying goodbye to the promotion.
These particular stars might part with the promotion on bad terms. Therefore, the fans might never see them return to Tony Khan's territory again. Here are four current AEW stars who might never wrestle in the company again if they leave the promotion in the near future.
#1. Rey Fenix
A few months ago, it was reported that Rey Fenix was set to leave AEW after his contract expired. However, Tony Khan added an injury clause to his current deal and extended his contract. It was also rumored that WWE was interested in acquiring him after he departed from the Jacksonville-based promotion, but Khan apparently didn't want him to join the rival company, so he forced him to stay.

The Luchador seemed unhappy with his current situation in AEW and has posted several cryptic tweets on social media expressing his dissatisfaction with the company. The tension between both parties has already soured their relationship. Therefore, it is unlikely that Fenix will ever return to the Jacksonville-based promotion in the future after he departs.
#2 Ricky Starks
Tony Khan has frozen Ricky Starks since March 2024. The absent wrestler was neither injured nor his deal with the company expired, yet the AEW head had kept him sidelined for nearly nine months. A new report shed some light upon the matter, saying that Khan has decided to pay the Absolute star to sit at home.
In the past few weeks, Starks has expressed his desire to get back in the ring, as he doesn't want his career to come to a downfall. He was even scheduled to perform in GCW on multiple dates, but Tony Khan pulled him from the dates due to a controversy with GCW star Effy.
After witnessing such unjust behavior, Starks probably would want to leave the company and not work in the promotion in the future.
#3 Miro
Miro wrestled his last match in AEW at World's End 2023, where he defeated Andrade El Idolo. He has been out of action since and hasn't returned to TV due to creative differences. In September, Fightful reported that the former WWE star Rusev requested his release. If Khan does not grant him release, he will be required to remain until 2026.
The Redeemer was highly popular in WWE, but the Jacksonville-based promotion has failed to utilize his talent. He might not be happy with AEW wasting his potential and perhaps wouldn't look back to the promotion in the future.
#4 Danhausen
Similar to Miro, Danhausen's last appearance was also in the 2023 Worlds End PPV. He was sidelined for most of 2023 due to a torn pectoral but has returned to wrestling and is active on the independent circuit. However, he has yet to return to AEW.
A report mentioned that the Jacksonville-based promotion had some creative plans to bring him back on TV, but the star wanted to prioritize independent bookings over his Collision dates. The absent star later clarified that his unavailability was due to family-related issues.
Both parties have yet to meet on the middle ground. Danhausen doesn't seem to be interested in returning to the Jacksonville-based promotion but will have to stay until his contract expires, which will happen in the summer of 2025.
