The 2024 AEW Blood and Guts edition of Dynamite is scheduled to take place tonight. It will emanate from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The annual Blood and Guts Match is sure to be the highlight of the show.
Team Elite and Team AEW will go head-to-head against each other inside the unforgiving structure. Kazuchika Okada, The Young Bucks, 'Hangman' Adam Page, and Jack Perry will represent Team Elite. Meanwhile, Swerve Strickland, Mark Briscoe, Darby Allin, and The Acclaimed will be part of Team AEW.
Over the past few weeks, fans have seen tensions build up among the participants of the contest. This could lead to some shocking betrayals during the match. That said, here are four stars that could turn their back on their partners on Dynamite.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#1 Darby Allin turns heel and attacks Swerve Strickland
Last year, Darby Allin and Swerve Strickland were involved in an intense feud. The former still dislikes the latter but is willing to combine forces with him to take down The Elite.
In a recent interview, the face-painted star expressed his frustrations over Swerve being the team leader of Team AEW. He refused to acknowledge the AEW World Champion as his squad's head honcho. However, he did agree to put his history with Strickland aside for the Blood and Guts Match.
During the match, fans could see the two stars butt heads. Strickland could try to assert his authority over Allin, thus provoking him to turn heel and launch an attack on the champion.
#2 Kazuchika Okada of The Elite kicks out 'Hangman' Adam Page
Earlier this year, The Young Bucks suspended 'Hangman' Adam Page from The Elite. Kazuchika Okada was later recruited to the faction by the Bucks. Since Page is back, Okada could feel threatened about losing his spot in the group.
This could lead to a clash between the two stars during the match. The Rainmaker could ultimately kick Adam Page out of The Elite, starting a heated rivalry with him. Moreover, the former World Champion is not a true heel now. Hence, he might not be a great fit for the group. Page could feud with Okada over the Continental Title following their potential altercation on Wednesday.
#3 Billy Gunn turns on The Acclaimed
Lately, Billy Gunn was seen getting frustrated with his stablemates, Max Caster and Anthony Bowens. He seemed fed up with his team members' casual attitude towards the upcoming Blood and Guts Match.
In a recent Collision promo, he even chastised Max and Anthony for not being serious about their match against Team Elite. He sternly asked them to bring their A-game to the match, which might have been an ultimatum.
During the match, the wrestling legend could turn on his stablemates after being upset with their performances.
#4 Christopher Daniels betrays Tony Khan and joins The Elite
Christopher Daniels was recently fired by The Young Bucks. But Tony Khan brought him back. He is currently the interim EVP of AEW. During the Blood and Guts Match, fans could see him turning heel and shockingly joining The Elite.
Daniels might be tired of working under Khan and sick of taking orders from the AEW President. This could intensify the Team AEW vs Team Elite feud, thereby extending it further.
