#2. Rumored AEW signing Ruby Soho
AEW signing former WWE Superstar Ruby Soho has been rumored for several weeks now.
The former WWE Superstar was released by WWE on June 2, 2021 as part of the ongoing "budget cuts" cited by the company, leading to mass releases of talents, employees and agents this year.
Since then, it has been reported that Soho will become All Elite in the very near future. The former Riott Squad leader is well regarded as one of the most reliable female in-ring performers going today and also boasts a professional reputation that some wrestlers can only dream of.
Ruby Soho recently dropped a teaser vignette on her social media platforms, indicating the beginning of a new chapter in her professional wrestling career. Whilst there hasn't been any official confirmation that she has signed with AEW, many are assuming that these teases are the beginning of her journey to All Elite Wrestling.
Perhaps Ruby Soho will make her AEW debut in the biggest way possible, by going straight after the AEW Women's Champion Britt Baker and picking a fight.
#1. AEW wrestler Thunder Rosa
Former NWA Women's Champion Thunder Rosa made her AEW debut on Dynamite in August 2020. After unsuccessfully challenging for the AEW Women's Championship at All Out against Hikaru Shida, Rosa continued to make appearances for the promotion.
During these AEW appearances, Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. has emerged as Thunder Rosa's biggest rival. The two stars began feuding in November 2020 on AEW television, regularly brawling after matches and fighting at ringside.
This rivalry led to their famous Unsanctioned Lights Out match on the St. Patrick's Day Slam edition of AEW Dynamite on March 17, 2021. The violent and bloody match between Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker marked the first time that women had main evented an episode of Dynamite. The match was also widely praised and critically acclaimed by fans and journalists alike.
Whilst the unsanctioned match does not count towards the official AEW rankings, Thunder Rosa defeated Britt Baker in the Lights Out match, meaning she does own a victory over the Women's World Champion.
This could mean that Thunder Rosa may be next in line to challenge for the AEW Women's Championship once again.
