Adam Copeland recently had his first in-ring match in AEW and quickly learned the hard way that he has few friends in the promotion. Despite interference from Christian Cage, The Rated R Superstar still walked away with the win.
Before his WWE departure, Copeland established The Judgment Day, which has since become a major faction. In order to realistically take on Christian and possibly beat the sense back into him, Adam Copeland should consider teaming up with some of the following five AEW stars.
#5. Wardlow is back in AEW and has some history with Christian Cage
The reigning TNT Champion has no shortage of enemies within the promotion, and The War Dog is likely one of them. After months away from television due to an injury, Wardlow recently made a return to the promotion, albeit with a darker persona. However, this doesn't need to be a heel turn, and the star could turn his frustration into something productive.
If anything, Adam Copeland will need some muscle on his side to prevent sudden attacks by Luchasaursus. While The Rated R Superstar could more than handle the masked star on Dynamite, a backstage attack could still leave him vulnerable. Wardlow was screwed out of the TNT Championship by Luchasaurus and Christian Cage, making his desire for retribution a sensible inclusion to the storyline.
#4 Darby Allin and Adam Copeland will likely join forces sooner rather than later
Much like Wardlow, Darby Allin also has a history with Luchasaurus and Christian Cage, who also screwed him out of the TNT Championship. While he's currently away from the wrestling scene after being written off, his return will no doubt be triumphant, and he'll likely be out looking for blood.
Naturally, Sting will also accompany Darby Allin into this faction, especially with Copeland and Cage's history with The Icon. This will, like with Wardlow, advance the storyline even more and provide a few historical callbacks from both AEW and Adam Copeland and Christian Cage's childhoods as wrestling fans.
#3 Ethan Page would make a good inclusion to this hypothetical faction
The last time fans saw Page on AEW television, he suffered a defeat at the hands of MJF when he unsuccessfully challenged him for the AEW World Championship.
While he was attached to a would-be faction with Matt and Jeff Hardy, this has quietly fallen apart. Many have criticized the promotion's booking of Ethan Page, but an alliance with Copeland would at least give him some much-needed screentime in the main promotion.
Both men are notably from Ontario, Canada, and "All-Ego" likely followed The Rated R Superstar's journey into pro wrestling growing up. This could additionally be some foundation for Ethan Page to someday take the helm of the faction once Adam Copeland reunites with Christian Cage. More so, this would allow him to lead a faction and hopefully capture gold.
#2 & 1 Adam Copeland will inevitably team up with FTR's Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler
FTR is one of the most decorated tag teams in modern-day pro wrestling and is touted by many as being one of the greats.
Unfortunately for the duo and their fans, they recently lost their AEW World Tag Team Championships, which was likely due to Wheeler's injury. However, once they return, they'll likely need to build up some momentum, and who better than teaming up with The Rated R Superstar?
Copeland and his wife, Beth Phoenix, notably used FTR's finisher in homage during their mixed-tag match with The Miz and Maryse in WWE. According to Dax Harwood, he even helped Adam Copeland train during his last run with the Stamford-based promotion. With all of their personal history, it's inevitable that the "Top Guys" will align themselves with Copeland very soon.
