#1. AEW Star Matt Jackson
The Young Bucks appeared on WWE television nearly a decade before they joined AEW. In 2008, Matt Jackson wrestled in two matches on SmackDown against Chuck Palumbo and The Big Show. That same year, Matt and his brother, Nick, appeared on The Miz and Morrison's Dirt Sheet show on ECW. Miz and Morrison made Matt and Nick dress up as D-Generation X before beating them up in the ring.
Nonetheless, WWE decided to pass on the opportunity to sign the Jackson brothers. In 2011, Matt and Nick participated in another WWE tryout. WWE again refused to sign them.
The Young Bucks then wrestled in different promotions until 2019, when they joined AEW as Executive Vice Presidents and in-ring competitors. Right before signing with Tony Khan's company, Triple H offered The Young Bucks a WWE contract. Despite the deal falling through, The Game left a positive impression on Matt Jackson.
"He was great. Charming dude. He said all the right things. I don’t know how many times I told him no. We must have declined the offer, in the end, I don’t want to exaggerate, it had to have been at least four or five times, and by the end of every conversation he would have another call scheduled with me in two weeks and I would go 'how did he do that?' What, I just told him no. We’d be laughing by the end of the conversation. The conversation would start with me saying we’re so sorry, we’re going to pass on this, thank you so much, and an hour later I’m talking about our next phone call in two weeks. He’s a magician and no wonder he has the job he has because he’s a charming guy and he’ll charm your socks off," Matt Jackson told Fightful.
Despite being impressed by Triple H, The Young Bucks turned down WWE's offer. They made their AEW debut at the 2019 Double or Nothing pay-per-view, defeating Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix. The former AEW Tag Team Champions recently teamed up with Adam Cole to defeat Jurassic Express at AEW Rampage.
