#2. MJF vs. his childhood hero, CM Punk
AEW has so many great things going for them right now, it's hard to single out one rivalry over another. However, as entertaining as the Page-Cole, Jericho-Kingston, or Danielson-Moxley feud has been so far, the one that has piqued fans' interest the most is MJF and CM Punk. Truthfully, it may even be the greatest rivalry either wrestler has been involved in. Not to mention that it's easily the best feud Punk or MJF have had in AEW so far.
The genius of MJF's relationship with Punk is how much personal history between the two is melded into the storyline. As mentioned in past promos, MJF grew up watching Punk, citing him as a key reason why he began wrestling in the first place.
This more personal aspect has helped add so much emotional depth to the rivalry, something that sets it apart from all other feuds. The two may have had only one match in AEW so far, but their month-long verbal feud has never grown stale.
#1. AEW's first and best feud, Jon Moxley vs. Kenny Omega
One of the first major rivalries in AEW history, Kenny Omega's match with Jon Moxley was one that fans had been pining to see for years. The two men had made names for themselves as the greatest wrestlers working today on opposite sides of the world. Their eventual confrontation in AEW was one that more than lived up to fans' expectations when they first met in 2019.
As great as this initial feud was, Moxley and Omega's rivalry would only get better in later years. With Omega essentially stealing the World Championship from Moxley in 2020, their feud would enter a new, exciting stage.
For months, Omega called in every ally he had--the Good Brothers, the Young Bucks, and even KENTA--against the one-man wrecking crew, Jon Moxley. The matches the two had were always entertaining, their promos more than solid, and the feud never grew tired or boring.
