#1 AEW's The Nightmare Collective

One of the most loathed AEW storylines was the Nightmare Collective. The heel stable that had Brandi Rhodes as its leader consisted of Awesome Kong, Mel, and Luther. It was a strangely put-together stable that veered into Gothic idealogy mixed in with voodoo hijinks. Suffice to say, it never got off the ground.

Fans couldn't make much of it. Brandi Rhodes explained that the original plan was for her to manage Awesome Kong. Kong, who recently retired from wrestling, was not in the best physical shape. This led to the creation of The Nightmare Collective.

The fans responded negatively and, in an interview, Brandi Rhodes felt the same way about the AEW stable.

"I didn’t feel it. I started to notice audience members were on the same page as me. I was starting to feel like ‘I’m not really understanding this,’ or some things that are happening are happening too quickly for people to really keep up with this, or it was a nice idea but we don’t have the time to explain it how people want to explain it so, I think, a big misconception is AEW made changes, not at all, I did," said Brandi Rhodes.

The AEW storyline was thrown out as Brandi Rhodes lit fire to her Nightmare Collective wardrobe, indicating the angle was killed off.

For Brandi and fans alike, it was probably for the best.
