Jeff Jarrett recently announced that he would be retiring from his professional wrestling career in AEW. The veteran superstar came out on the January 1, 2025 episode of Dynamite to announce that he has re-signed with Tony Khan's promotion and wants to have one last run before he rides off into the sunset.

Double J has also made his intentions known of going after the big gold as well, the AEW World Championship. So, before The Last Outlaw's retirement steadily approaches, we're here to look at these stars who would make a great fit for his official retirement match in All Elite Wrestling.

#5. AEW World Champion Jon Moxley

Jeff Jarrett is aiming to reach the highest of heights in his professional wrestling career once again before it comes to an end. He recently announced that he wants to hold the gold once more and not just any plain title, but the AEW World Championship itself.

A former WWE writer just went after JBL for his comments HERE

However, if he wishes to get his hands on the World title then he'll have to go through Jon Moxley and his crew of The Death Riders. That's quite a daunting task but if Double J wins the casino gauntlet battle royal match next week then he'll get his shot.

We can see Jarrett becoming obsessed with holding the big title once again and upping the stakes by putting his career on the line against The Purveyor of Violence. It won't come easy at all though with Moxley being adamant about not letting anyone get their hands on the AEW World Championship.

#4. Chris Jericho

Jeff Jarrett has had a long and storied career in the professional wrestling industry, facing off a lot of stars during his tenure. So, you'd have to think that he would've had to have faced another accomplished wrestling veteran, Chris Jericho and you would be right.

The two faced off against one another in WCW back in 1997, on the February 17th, 1997, episode of Nitro. Jericho would end up coming off with a win in their only televised match. So, you'd think that Jarrett hasn't forgotten this loss and would want to avenge it as well.

The Last Outlaw has also expressed his desire of wanting to work with The Learning Tree's leader in WWE back in 2001. However, he would unfortunately not get that chance as Vince McMahon decided not to rehire him.

But he can now fulfill his wishes and get his final match with the two legendary superstars putting on an entertaining feud in AEW, once they start a program.

#3. Jay Lethal

Jeff Jarrett established TNA back in 2002 after he was ousted from WWE live on TV as a consequence of holding up Vince McMahon for an amount of money. After being fired, he would then give many stars a chance to make a name for themselves in his wrestling promotion.

One of the biggest breakout stars from TNA would end up being Jay Lethal. Jarrett and Lethal have quite a lot of history with each other and work closely with each other in the Planet Jarrett faction in AEW.

We can see Jarrett giving his closest ally in AEW, Jay Lethal, the honor of being his final opponent before he hangs up his professional wrestling boots. Lethal certainly would not decline such an opportunity and the two would put on an emotionally charged match.

#2. Adam Copeland

Adam Copeland knows a thing or two about retirement, as the former WWE star would end up retiring himself after a career-ending injury. But in one of the best moments in professional wrestling history, he would make a thunderous comeback at the 2020 Royal Rumble.

Now, Cope wrestles for AEW and wants to face a laundry list of opponents. However, one opponent he would now certainly add to that list would be Jeff Jarrett after the veteran has announced a retirement tour.

The two stars also have a history with each other, as the two would face off several times in the late 90s in WWE. The Rated R superstar would even end up beating him for the Intercontinental Championship in a house show in Toronto in 1999.

Both veterans can give the fans a glimpse of the magic they can create with each other in a fitting retirement match for Jeff Jarrett.

#1. Dustin Rhodes

Another AEW veteran who has also recently resigned from the company for a potential final run is Dustin Rhodes. Now, that Jeff Jarrett looks to ride off into the sunset on his in-ring wrestling career perhaps he'll consider that prospect soon as well.

The current ROH World Tag Team Champion certainly had to have taken notice of Jarrett's retirement announcement. So, perhaps the two experienced veterans can go out together and mark a final double retirement match with each other in AEW.

It would certainly make it much more emotional for the fans if they knew that not just one but two legends would wrestle for the last time.
