4) - AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam will be the company's first event in New York City
Sometimes looking at the success of AEW, fans forget that they have only been in existence for over two years. Due to the short duration they have been running as a promotion, All Elite Wrestling hasn't been able to visit many markets around the United States and beyond.
New York City is one of the biggest markets and cities in the wrestling world. From Madison Square Garden and the Hammerstein Ballroom to Barclays Center and Shea Stadium, there have been a tremendous amount of historic events in the greater New York area. Just last week, WWE returned to MSG for their Super SmackDown episode, which featured the return of Brock Lesnar and The Demon Finn Balor.
AEW will be making its New York City debut next Wednesday with AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam. It's a perfect pairing, as NYC has some of the most diehard, hardcore wrestling fans in the world. Once the event was announced, there was a great deal of buzz around it, as many fans felt that something big would be taking place.
Because of the history around New York, AEW will be looking to make its mark to solidify itself in The Big Apple. This event will be huge show for the company overall, but several stars are from NYC, so they'll be looking to make an impact. Taz, Eddie Kingston, Santana and Ortiz will all be coming home and looking to put the spotlight on them all in a significant way. Across the board, it will surely be a remarkable evening.
