Fewer fans know Kenny Omega from his time in Japan, where he put on some of the highest-quality matches ever. Kenny Omega needs the tag of 'AEW Champion' a lot more than Jon Moxley does.

Jon Moxley was a made man because of his stint in WWE, but Kenny Omega is known to a much more niche audience, and the audience on TNT may not necessarily know who this man with wavy hair and breathtaking moves is.
To be crowned AEW World Champion on the very same night that Sting appeared on their broadcast is a very big deal indeed. One assumes that there's an element of curiosity in the casual fan with regard to Kenny Omega right now. One hopes that they're wondering who he is.
