AEW Worlds End is just a few days away, and the match card is stacked. There is a lot at stake and a lot that could happen.
Given how volatile the situation is with certain feuds, there is a very high chance that fans could be in for some surprises, especially given the conundrum Jon Moxley and co. find themselves in.
In this article, we will take a look at five such shocking betrayals that could unfold at AEW Worlds End.
#5. Wheeler Yuta could turn on Jon Moxley
Jon Moxley has been on a warpath. Ever since he turned on Bryan Danielson, along with members of his faction, nothing has been able to stop him, and it looks like no external force can stop him.
However, if there was one dissent during his heel turn on Danielson, it was Wheeler Yuta. Given their relationship, it could be that Yuta might turn on Moxley, costing him the match, and go against The Death Riders.
#4. The Undisputed Kingdom could turn on Adam Cole
Adam Cole will face MJF in a grudge match. Last year, at the same pay-per-view, he turned on MJF, costing him the AEW World Title against Samoa Joe and thereby forming the Undisputed Kingdom.
Ever since coming back, Cole has been pushed as a babyface, which is at odds with the Undisputed Kingdom. Knowing MJF, he could very well strike a deal with the Undisputed Kingdom and have them turn on Adam Cole, thereby making it full circle on what happened last year.
#3. Kenny Omega could take out Kazuchika Okada
Kenny Omega has been away for the whole of 2024 due to health issues. There have been reports that he is set to appear at AEW Worlds End. However, it is not known in what capacity.
With The Young Bucks away, there is only one target who will be there that day, and that is Kazuchika Okada. He will be taking on Ricochet in the Continental Classic Semifinal, and Omega could see this as the perfect time to take out Okada and thereby get his revenge for what The Elite did to him.
#2. Samoa Joe could return
Like Kenny Omega, Samoa Joe has been missing from action. It has been a while since the AEW fans saw the Samoan Submission Machine in action. Given his caliber, there is only one match he can crash, and that is the main event.
He could come out and take out Jon Moxley, Hangman Adam Page, Jay White, and Orange Cassidy and cause a no-contest. That would firmly put him in the title picture going into the new year.
#1. Tony Khan could bring Bryan Danielson back to AEW
AEW President Tony Khan would like to end the year with a bang, and what better way to do it than by bringing back Bryan Danielson? There is a lot riding on it, though.
With the way Danielson was dumped by Jon Moxley and co at AEW WrestleDream, he will be rubbing his hands at the prospect of giving it back to them. Khan can bring Bryan back in an authoritative role to keep Moxley and co in check.
