Besides the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Quarterfinals, Dynamite will also witness an AEW International Title match between Will Ospreay and Daniel Garcia.
With the All In pay-per-view just a month away, several intriguing developments could take place on Dynamite this week that could have an impact on the annual Wembley Stadium event. In this article, let's look at five surprises Tony Khan could pull off on AEW Dynamite: Beach Break edition.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#5. PAC defeats Bryan Danielson on AEW Dynamite
Following victories in their respective first-round matches, Bryan Danielson and PAC will collide in the semifinals of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament on this week's edition of AEW Dynamite. While the fans expect The American Dragon to emerge victorious in this contest, there could be a twist in the tale that no one may see coming.
Bryan Danielson has turned down a possible run with the AEW World Championship several times in the past. As per the former WWE Champion, he no longer considers himself as someone who could fit in the position of the AEW World Champion.
Danielson believes that the World Champion must keep up with the high-quality in-ring competition happening around every week, which is something he can no longer physically devote himself to.
Tony Khan may respect The American Dragon's decision regarding the AEW World Championship, and reward the Finals spot to PAC instead. As surprising as it would be, the decision to let PAC go over Bryan Danielson would add an element of unpredictability to the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
#4. Dijak arrives in All Elite Wrestling
After a six-year-long run in the WWE, Dijak is now back to grinding on the independent circuit. In a shocking turn of events, the Stamford-based promotion has decided not to renew Dijak's contract, owing to a lack of plans for the former RAW Superstar.
The 6'7" star is currently a hot commodity in the free agent market and it may not be long before he signs with the Tony Khan-led company. Known for his exceptional in-ring skills, Dijak could certainly thrive in a wrestling-centric environment like AEW.
The former Retribution member could end up in the Jacksonville-based promotion as soon as the upcoming Wednesday. Dijak could send shockwaves across the wrestling universe by making his debut on AEW Dynamite: Beach Break edition.
The newly crowned TNT Champion, Jack Perry, could be a solid target for the 37-year-old star, allowing him to make an instant impact upon his arrival.
#3. Sammy Guevara enters the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament
On the latest episode of Dynamite, we will witness the conclusion of the first round of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. In a much-anticipated quarterfinals contest, Jeff Jarrett will go up against an unannounced Wild Card entrant.
In a surprising turn of events, Sammy Guevara could make his return on Dynamite to face The Last Outlaw in the quarterfinals. The Spanish God was last seen on television in February 2024, where he battled Jeff Hardy in a No Disqualification match.
With Jeff Jarrett set to enter the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament as a babyface, Sammy Guevara could be a solid antagonist to pit against Double J. Having been on the sidelines for months, entering the Owen Hart Cup would be a solid way for The Spanish God to make an impact upon his return.
#2. Mercedes Mone turns heel
At Forbidden Door 2024, Mercedes Mone survived an intense battle against Stephanie Vaquer to become the new NJPW Strong Women's Champion. Despite her impressive performance, the New York crowd showered The CEO with boos whenever she got the upper hand in the contest.
The negative crowd reaction reached its peak when the fans heavily cheered the returning Britt Baker, who came out to confront Mone after the match. Keeping the audience's response in mind, Tony Khan could pull off a major swerve by turning Mone heel on the upcoming edition of AEW Dynamite: Beach Break.
With The CEO set to hold a Double Championship Celebration on Wednesday, Tony Khan could book The Doctor to crash the festivities, much to the dislike of Mone.
The TBS Champion could turn heel during the segment by laying out Britt Baker. The unexpected turn would lay the seeds for a future rivalry between Mone and Baker, which could ultimately culminate in a match at All In London.
#1. The Don Callis Family turns on Will Ospreay
At Forbidden Door 2024, Will Ospreay came up short against Swerve Strickland in one of the greatest pay-per-view main events in AEW history. At one point in the match, The Aerial Assassin attempted The Hidden Blade finisher on Swerve, only to end up hitting the referee instead.
With the referee knocked out, Don Callis appeared on the scene to hand Ospreay a screwdriver. However, The Commonwealth Kingpin hesitated in using the weapon, as he wanted to win the AEW World Championship by fair means.
The exchange with Don Callis and Prince Nana at ringside caused Ospreay to lose his focus, allowing The Killshot to batter him with multiple finishers. After several kickouts from Ospreay, Strickland eventually succeeded in taking down the Aerial Assassin.
Considering his egoistic personality, Don Callis would not be happy with Will Ospreay disregarding his assistance at Forbidden Door. Following Ospreay's title defense against Daniel Garcia on Dynamite, Callis could confront The Commonwealth Kingpin for not attacking Swerve with the screwdriver on Sunday.
After a heated back-and-forth, The Don Callis Family could eventually lay down the AEW International Champion, marking his official exit from the heel group.
