The third installment of AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door is just a few days away. The annual pay-per-view will emanate from the UBS Arena in New York on Sunday, June 30, 2024.

The first two editions of the Forbidden Door event have been massive successes. Several dream matches have taken place at the inter-promotional pay-per-view thus far. This includes the 2023 classic between Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay.

The week's Dynamite will conclude the buildup for the upcoming pay-per-view. With names like Swerve Strickland, Toni Storm, and Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) set to be in action, fans can expect an explosive go-home edition of Dynamite ahead of Forbidden Door 2024.

Many astonishing moments could take place this Wednesday night, leaving fans in awe ahead of the pay-per-view. Here's a look at five surprises Tony Khan could pull off on the final Dynamite before Forbidden Door:

#5. Rey Fenix defeats Jay White in a major swerve on AEW Dynamite

Jay White is slated to return to in-ring action this week. The Switchblade will take on Death Triangle's Rey Fenix in the Owen Hart Foundation Cup 2024 Tournament Quarterfinal.

With limited success in AEW's singles division thus far, White would look to thwart Fenix and advance to a world title opportunity. However, Rey Fenix could upset the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion in this match to further heat the rivalry between Bullet Club Gold and The Death Triangle.

Following a string of disappointing defeats, Rey Fenix, Pentagon Jr., and PAC have started to retaliate against the current AEW World Trios Champion.

After costing The Bang Bang Gang their match against House of Black on Collision recently, PAC could spoil Jay White's plans for the upcoming edition of Dynamite.

#4. The Gates of Agony defeat Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland

The rivalry between Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay seems to be getting more personal with each passing week. However, the upcoming episode of Wednesday Night Dynamite will see the bitter rivals join forces for a tag team match against the Gates of Agony.

The match will possibly revolve around the chemistry between Swerve and Ospreay and whether they could co-exist as a unit against a legitimate tag team. However, the growing issues between The Killshot and The Aerial Assassin could cause their undoing in this contest.

Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun could take advantage of the tension between Swerve and Ospreay to score a clever pinfall victory. With Will Ospreay yet to suffer a pinfall defeat, it will most likely be Swerve Strickland taking the pin in this match.

A victory over AEW's two biggest titleholders will be the perfect way for the Gates of Agony to avenge Brian Cage's recent loss against Will Ospreay on Collision. Losing to his former allies would further infuriate the reigning AEW World Champion, who has been upset about Ospreay upstaging him as the top star in the promotion.

#3. Hangman Adam Page is revealed as the Wild Card entrant in the Owen Hart Cup

Surprisingly, The Elite has not yet picked anyone to represent them in the Owen Hart Cup. Considering their recent verbal duels with Swerve Strickland, The Young Bucks would be adamant about stripping the AEW World Championship off The Killshot.

On the latest episode of Dynamite, The Young Bucks could reveal Hangman Adam Page as the final addition to the lineup for The Owen Hart Foundation Cup 2024. The Anxious Millenial Cowboy was last seen at the Revolution 2024 PPV, where he lost a three-way contest against Samoa Joe and Swerve Strickland.

In his quest to destroy Swerve Strickland, Hangman could keep his ego aside and join forces with The Elite. Entering the Owen Hart Cup would allow The Cowboy to secure a World Title Shot at All In, giving him the perfect chance to settle his scores with The Killshot at Wembley Stadium.

#2. Claudio Castagnoli teases a heel turn

Claudio Castagnoli has remained a valuable member of The Blackpool Combat Club since he arrived in 2022. The Swiss Superman has added great value to the faction, helping them become the most feared group in AEW.

Unfortunately, the veteran has seemed like an afterthought since he lost his ROH World Championship. Despite his consistent performances, Castagnoli has been treated as the third wheel of the group as of late.

The former WWE Superstar failed to advance to the next stage of The Owen Hart Cup, courtesy of his loss to PAC in the Quarterfinal on the June 19, 2024, episode of Dynamite. Castagnoli was left heartbroken and frustrated following his defeat. He also had a brief staredown at Bryan Danielson.

Castagnoli could further explore his dark side in the upcoming episode of Dynamite. The King of Swing could tease a breakup with the faction by targeting his fellow allies on the microphone. He could even lay his hands on his fellow stablemate, Wheeler Yuta, to seek the attention of BCC leaders Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley.

#1. Sammy Guevara answers Jeff Cobb's open challenge

NJPW World Television Champion Jeff Cobb laid down an open challenge for his title a few weeks ago. The 41-year-old star dared any AEW talent to try taking the championship off his waist.

However, Cobb has yet to receive a response to his challenge. The scenario could change on the latest episode of Dynamite with the return of The Spanish God, Sammy Guevara.

Guevara was last seen on AEW TV in February 2024. The 30-year-old was suspended by Tony Khan after he failed to follow the concussion protocols during a No Disqualification Match against Jeff Hardy on the February 14, 2024, episode of Rampage.

As per recent reports, Mr. Money's Worth is nearing his return to AEW after having his suspension lifted last month. Known for delivering great performances in title matches, it would be logical to pit Guevara against Jeff Cobb at Forbidden Door 2024.

Cobb vs. Guevara would be a terrific addition to a stacked Forbidden Door card. A former three-time TNT Champion in his own right, The Spanish God would love the opportunity to crack into NJPW's mid-card scene.
