#2 The Acclaimed
This is a team that's just waiting to break out in AEW. The fans are behind them and their mic act is over. It just hasn't translated to meaningful matches and feuds beyond appearances on Dark and Elevation.
If they were to be pushed more steadily on the main shows, they could easily be players in the championship picture, with almost guaranteed exciting factors.
In addition, either Max Castor and/or Anthony Bowens could be breakout singles stars if they so choose.
#1 FTR - Former AEW Tag Team Champions
FTR was pegged as being the needed piece to the puzzle to bring the AEW tag team division to the next level. Their pay-per-view match with the Young Bucks was considered among today's wrestling fans to be a dream match.
Since that match, which saw the Bucks win the title, it almost seems like FTR has been demoted to a nominal role within the Pinnacle faction, while often taking losses to makeshift teams such as Sting and Darby Allin.
It looks like they are starting to re-emerge as major players again, given their recent feud with the Lucha Brothers and stint with the AAA tag team titles. Hopefully 2022 provides opportunities for them to continue to rise to the top.
