It's fair to say Ricochet has had a topsy-turvy 2024. From the heights of his debut at All In, to the lows at Worlds End, he has gone through it all in the last five months.
It is a testament to his ability that despite not having things go his way, he has found ways to stay relevant in the eyes of many. He had a very rough time of it at Worlds End where he was showered with toilet paper, led by Swerve Strickland and the fans.
It felt like he had hit rock bottom and that there was no coming back for the former WWE star. In this article, we will take a look at five such ways in which Ricochet could redeem himself in AEW in 2025.
#5. Ricochet turns heel
This is the most obvious choice and could very well be one that he will choose. His run as a baby face has not seemingly worked as well as he would have liked and it is clear that the fans don't like it either. It feels forced and when that happens, it becomes tough for the stars to maintain momentum.
Given that he has shown tendencies of turning heel already, 2025 might well be the year where the high flyer fully embraces it. It will be a refreshing way for him to reintroduce him to the AEW faithful.
#4. Challenge for the AEW World Championship
The AEW World Championship is currently held by Jon Moxley and if what happened at Worlds End is anything to go by, then his next challenger will be the returning Adam Copeland. That is also something the fans will want to see.
However, Ricochet might throw a spanner into the works. He could make a deal with The Elite and cut the line to challenge Moxley before Copeland. That will be in line with his heel turn.
#3. Join the Hurt Syndicate
The Hurt Syndicate has been on the rise in AEW since its formation. Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP are three names that are well-known in the company. However, they have been trying to add more names to the faction.
Given what happened with Ricochet at Worlds End, it would be in his best interests to take a back seat and take guidance from some veterans. While his previous run-in with the faction didn't work out well, it is possible a heel turn could make the veterans view him differently. The Hurt Syndicate can make sure that they protect him and guide him to better things.
#2. Join the Death Riders
The Death Riders, like the Hurt Syndicate, are another fearsome faction and they are currently at the top of the mountain when it comes to having the gold in AEW. Despite all that, there is always room for them to add new names to the roster.
Getting Ricochet into the faction and using him to further their goals is something that they could consider. It could be a nice way for the former WWE star to leave a mark as well as show fans that he doesn't care about their views of him.
#1. Take a hiatus and come back with Bryan Danielson
Although this would not be a popular decision, it might be the best one for Ricochet given how he has been treated thus far by the fans. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder and maybe, he should heed this advice.
Taking a hiatus will ensure that he stays out of the spotlight. On top of that, if he comes back with a returning Bryan Danielson as his manager, it is sure to make the fans cheer for him and get back on his side.
