AEW has been proving itself as a competent competitor to WWE for the last five years. While the declining attendance and TV viewership might say otherwise, the promotion recently renewed its television deal with WBD. Many stars trust the credibility of the company and have signed with AEW after departing WWE.

WWE was the only major company in the industry for many years. However, with the Jacksonville-based promotion's arrival, stars can jump ship to AEW. Some major names who have made the switch in recent times include Bryan Danielson, Adam Copeland, Ricochet, Bobby Lashley, and plenty more names.

Fans are eager for new names to join the Tony Khan-led promotion. Several stars have been released from WWE this year and some have failed to renew their contract. Let's take a look at some of the names who could possibly sign with AEW in 2025.

#6. Indi Hartwell

Indi Hartwell was part of WWE from 2019 until last month. Her career saw many ups and downs on the road she has been on. She received a major push in NXT and is also a former NXT Women's Champion. However, she seemingly got lost in the shuffle during the main roster run. After teaming with Candice LeRae briefly, she was released from the promotion in October 2024.

Indi Hartwell will be a free agent in late January 2025. She could become All Elite soon after as she had showcased great potential during her time with WWE.

#5. Trevor Lee, fka Cameron Grimes

The former NXT North American Champion was a huge star on WWE's developmental brand NXT but failed to deliver on SmackDown when he was called up to the main roster. He was involved in crucial rivalries on NXT. He was released from the Stamford-based promotion in April 2024 and his release came as a shock to him and as well as many fans as showed promising skills.

Cameron Grimes is currently wrestling in different independent promotions. His arrival in AEW could be a huge deal for the mid-card scene of the company.

#4. Raj Dhesi, fka Jinder Mahal

The Modern-Day Maharaja was one of the most controversial champions in the Stamford-based company. He was a WWE Champion for a lengthy period. A few months ago, he was involved in an online feud battle Tony Khan and Hook. He was released in April 2024 despite his growing popularity.

Tony Khan should capitalize on this situation and sign Jinder Mahal as he is still a free agent and a well-known name who could add value to AEW.

#3. Dijak

Dijak was one of the more intimidating figures in WWE's NXT. He has had two runs on the developmental brand. where he was involved in major storylines. He was called up to the main roster earlier this year but never featured on TV after the call-up. After his contract expired in June, he didn't renew his contract with the promotion.

Dijak's dynamic wrestling skills could impress AEW fans. A powerhouse like him could thrive in the Jacksonville-based promotion.

#2. Mustafa Ali

Mustafa Ali was released from WWE in September 2023, along with a handful of other stars. He was one of the most improved stars in the company. After his release, he wrestled in TNA and held their TNA X Division Title for a significant amount of time. After losing the championship, he announced his departure from the company.

Rumors are flying around about the high-flyer coming to AEW as he recently attended their All Out Pay-Per-View. He might be a good fit for the Jacksonville-based promotion due to his immense experience and potential for stealing the show with his character work.

#1. Will Baron Corbin be AEW-bound in 2025?

The Lone Wolf was pushed to the moon during Vince McMahon's leadership. He was constantly pitted against top stars like Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns while some fans refused to accept him as a main event talent. However, he was sent to NXT and teamed up with Bron Breakker. Not only did he become a beloved star, winning over the fans with his performances but also vastly improved his character.
