A former WWE Superstar could take a break from AEW TV after dethroning the current ROH World Champion, Chris Jericho. The star had a multi-man match against Jericho last week as well.
The six-foot-five-inch star, Cope (fka Edge), made his blockbuster AEW return at Worlds End 2024 after months of hiatus due to an injury. After making his in-ring return on Dynamite last week, the Rated R Superstar also appeared on Collision last Saturday.
Cope had a backstage confrontation with his former rival Chris Jericho and the two talked about facing each other for the first time in nearly 15 years. In case that happens, the Rated R Superstar could dethrone Jericho after their confrontation on Collision last Saturday.
Jericho is currently the ROH World Champion and it seems that the seeds were planted last Saturday for an eventual match between him and Cope. The erstwhile Edge could capture the Ring of Honor World Title from Jericho and take a hiatus from AEW TV for some time to only appear on ROH.
Tony Khan could definitely use Cope's star power to elevate Ring of Honor and bring more eyes to the product. It will be interesting to see when Jericho and Cope wrestle one-on-one in AEW.
Chris Jericho suffered defeat in his match against a WWE Hall of Famer
After their backstage confrontation on AEW Collision, Chris Jericho teamed with Big Bill and Bryan Keith of The Learning Tree to take on WWE Hall of Famer, Cope, alongside FTR in a trios match in the main event of the show. In an amazing multi-man encounter, Rated FTR emerged victorious to close the show.
Moreover, it has not yet been made clear what's the next direction for Jericho and The Learning Tree. Only time will tell what's next for the ROH World Champion.
