Adam Cole (original name: Austin Kirk Jenkins) appeared for WWE and Ring of Honor (ROH) prior to making it to the AEW. Moreover, he is the winner of the Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament, Men’s Owen Hart Cup, and Dynamite Award in AEW. Cole made his first appearance for ROH in 2009. He became the very first grappler to bring home the ROH World Title multiple times. He spent several years in independent circuits like Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), and Chikara. He won the CZW World Junior Heavyweight Championship, Best of the Best X, and PWG World Championship in those promotions.

From 2017 to 2021 during his term with WWE he performed on NXT and was the face value of the stable "The Undisputed Era". Cole achieved titles like the inaugural NXT North American Championship and NXT Tag Team Championship. He was an NXT Champion for the most number of days in history and the second wrestler to become the NXT Triple Crown Title holder. Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, NXT Year-End Award, Male Competitor of the Year, and Overall Competitor of the Year are his additional success with WWE. Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) named him Wrestler of the Year in 2019 and placed him in second position among the top 500 wrestlers in 2020. Life before AEW

Cole won his first title at ROH, the ROH World Television Championship after defeating Roderick Strong in 2012. He lost this title after 246 days to Matt Taven. Cole then participated in a tournament to decide the ROH World Champion. He went on to beat Mark Briscoe, Jay Lethal, Tommaso Ciampa, and Michael Elgin to win the title.

He made his WWE debut in 2017 at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III. He participated in a ladder match at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans and won the inaugural NXT North American Championship at that event. He defeated Johnny Gargano at NXT TakeOver: XXV to win his first-ever NXT Title. He lost the title after 403 days to Keith Lee in a Winner Takes All match clash. Cole additionally made his first-ever WWE main roster appearance in Royal Rumble 2018 but was eliminated by Rey Mysterio. After his departure from the WWE Cole signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2021.
