Career before AEW

In 2008 Adam Cole made his expert wrestling debut at Combat Zone Wrestling and was dynamic there for five years. He showed up in Evolve, the East Coast Wrestling Association, and Dragon Gate USA (DGUSA) simultaneously. Cole brought home his first-ever championship the ROH World TV Title in 2012 after overcoming Roderick Strong. He lost this title following 246 days to Matt Taven. Cole then partook in a competition to choose the ROH World Title. He proceeded to beat Tommaso Ciampa, Jay Lethal, Mark Briscoe, and Michael Elgin to come out on top for the championship.

Cole was endorsed by All Elite Wrestling in 2021 after his exit from WWE.
