Ever since Adam Cole recovered from his foot injury, he has indicated he wanted to fight MJF. However, his Undisputed Kingdom stablemate, Roderick Strong, has also mentioned that he wanted to face Friedman. Hence, The Wolf of Wrestling decided to add an interesting stipulation.
He told Cole and Strong that whoever won three singles matches could face him at AEW Full Gear. Following this, Strong picked up notable wins against Shane Tayler and The Beast Mortos while Cole defeated Buddy Matthews and Malakai Black. With both men being one match away from three singles wins Cole told his rival that if both of them won three singles matches, then MJF would have to face both of them in a Triple Threat Match.
Maxwell meanwhile had other plans, as he offered Don Callis some money and his Dynamite Diamond Ring to prevent Cole from winning his third match. This week on Dynamite, Strong defeated Lance Archer. However, The Devil came up short in his match against Konosuke Takeshita for obvious reasons. Following this loss, Cole looked down and out backstage and he told the cameras that he didn't want to discuss his recent defeat.
Cole was visibly frustrated with the way things turned out for him, he could lose his cool and walk away from Dynamite. His only goal was to exact revenge on MJF, which he had waited months to do, and not being able to face him at Full Gear could lead The Panama City Playboy to take some time away from the ring.
Cole's predicament could also cause a rift between the former WWE star and his Undisputed Kingdom stablemates. He might feel that his rightful opportunity was taken away from him by someone who was supposed to be his friend, Roderick Strong.
Dutch Mantell commented on Adam Cole and Britt Baker's breakup
Britt Baker and Adam Cole were a well-known couple on AEW. Cole even referenced their relationship on TV as soon as he arrived at the company by asking Tony Schiavone to keep away from his girlfriend, at the time. The duo were even involved in a storyline with Chris Jericho and The Outcasts.
However, earlier this year, it was rumored that AEW's 'It couple' had broken, and Cole himself confirmed the same. The Panama City Playboy also urged fans not to pick any sides in this parting of ways.
Speaking on his Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the former WWE manager commented on the situation between two of AEW's top stars.
"They broke up. I think they were living in Florida and I think Adam Cole moved back home. I think he just packed it up and said see you later and he left," he said. [59:23 - 59:42]
