2. Chris Jericho (AEW Record: 36-14-1)
Last years ranking: #1
When AEW signed Chris Jericho, it was a shock to the wrestling world, but just the man AEW needed. Bringing in one of the best of all time and a man who has successfully evolved himself over the years to not only be the face of the company, but the very first AEW World Champion was a fantastic move by Tony Khan. From forming the Inner Circle and being apart of 2 Stadium Stampede matches and a Mimosa Mayhem match, to filming a Broadway-style musical and coming up with catchphrase after catchphrase, Chris Jericho truly is "The Demo-God."
AEW seemingly has all the faith in the world in Chris Jericho, and he has delivered time and time again. The 5 Labors of Jericho gave AEW fans a look at Nick Gage and turned back the clocks to give us Jericho vs. Juventud Guerrera, ending with Jericho finally getting a win over MJF and saving his career.
1. Jon Moxley (AEW Record: 53-10-1)
Last years ranking: #2
The great Michael Scott would say "oh how the tables have turned" as Jon Moxley has taken the number 1 spot from Chris Jericho.
Since bursting into AEW, Moxley has been booked as one of the best wrestlers in the company that's not named Kenny Omega. Moxley defeated Jericho to become the second AEW World Champion, and after 9 succesful defenses, lost the title to Kenny Omega.
Losing the AEW World Championship didn't seem to phase Moxley's stock at all, as he entered into a feud with Eddie Kingston that was so great it earned the pair the Wrestling Observer Newsletter's 2020 Feud of the Year. The feud ended in a great Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch, and even though the match will only be remembered for one thing (we all know what that is) the match that preceded was fantastic. Moxley has continuously been booked, and has carried himself as the best former WWE superstar in AEW today.
*We here at Sportskeeda would like to wish Jon Moxley (Jonathan Good) the best of luck in his recovery, and applaud his brave decision to seek help in a very difficult time.*
