This week, AEW moved one step closer towards Cody Rhodes and Shaquille O'Neal's potential faceoff in an in-ring match.

Before the show, Shaq called out Cody and said that he was ready to face him soon. During AEW Dynamite, Cody responded to Shaq's challenge in an in-ring segment with Arn Anderson. At AEW Revolution in March, fans could have seen Cody teaming up with his wife, Brandi Rhodes, to take on Shaq and Cargill. However, Brandi Rhodes is now pregnant, so she can't wrestle throughout the next few months.

Arn Anderson narrated an emotional story of how Dusty Rhodes juggled his duties as a wrestler and a father at the same time. Cody may be involved in a similar situation soon. In the meantime, Arn introduced Red Velvet on AEW Dynamite.

While Cody can take care of Shaq inside the ring, Red Velvet cut a promo about how she has her sights set on Jade Cargill. Cody and Velvet seemingly challenged Shaq and Cargill for a tag team match at AEW Revolution, and now it is the NBA Legend and his female ally's turn to respond.
