There's just something about The Dark Order that does not translate into compelling television. When Mr. Brodie Lee used to appear regularly on AEW Dynamite, at least there was a mouthpiece, someone serious to lead the collective, despite the goofiness. The current version of The Dark Order is so very vast, and so directionless on AEW Dynamite, that it just seems underwhelming.
Do we really see Hangman Page or Dustin Rhodes are members of The Dark Order? Yes, they do need a figurehead to lead the heel faction, but it will be a step down for both of these extremely talented AEW Dynamite Superstars. And yes, the reference to Seven was cool, if you're a WCW fan, but even then, The Dark Order has some essential component missing.
Remember when the nWo became far too big, with just way too many members? The Dark Order could genuinely fall into the same category on AEW Dynamite. Very honestly, maybe the faction just needs to dissolve.
