Perhaps the most fun match during AEW Dynamite was the AEW TNT Championship contest between JD Drake and Darby Allin. It is clear why Tony Khan is so very high on Allin. He is just exceptional between the ropes, and there's just something about him that's gripping, where you just can't take your eyes away.
When it feels so close, yet so far away. 😩 #AEWDynamite Thankfully, the wait is almost over! Tune into Dynamite LIVE TONIGHT at 8/7c on TNT for a STACKED card, including Darby Allin v. JD Drake for the #TNTChampionship! pic.twitter.com/vBmbx9J82r

But we know all of this about Allin. The big surprise this week came from JD Drake, who had quite the clash with the TNT Champion on AEW Dynamite, where the audience was rooting for him to win. He's an old-school wrestler who really doesn't do anything fancy for 90% of the match, and when he does, the audience responds. Timing is everything!
There's this wealth of talent that doesn't get a chance to shine on AEW Dynamite. Even so, it may be the right decision for Tony Khan to sign JD Drake. There's just something special about the guy that's special. We know this from one appearance!
