#4 Best: CM Punk debut possibly confirmed for AEW Rampage
Fans have been buzzing on social media ever since news of CM Punk possibly joining AEW surfaced almost a week ago. While most of the time these rumors lead nowhere, it seems like there may be some truth to it. It looks like the Cult of Personality may well be on his way to All Elite Wrestling.
During this week's episode, Tony Schiavone delivered a breathtaking announcement on behalf of Tony Khan, stating that the second episode of AEW Rampage will be held in Chicago.
Fans in attendance went into a frenzy as they started chanting CM Punk loudly, which AEW even gave further credence to by showing the crowd chanting on screen. The tease itself was satisfactory for hardcore fans, but the company brought an extra layer of hype to it in the next segment.
Darby Allin appeared backstage alongside Sting, issuing a challenge to anyone while specifically mentioning that even if it could be the best in the world, he's ready to face anyone and everyone.
No matter how many times AEW may want to allude to a possible Punk debut, this seems to be a little too on the nose. AEW Rampage or even All Out in Chicago would, after all, be the perfect time and place to send shockwaves all around the wrestling world.
#3 Worst: Jim Ross makes another blunder on AEW
Legendary commentator Jim Ross made yet another poor judgment during the match between The Elite and Hangman Page & Dark Order. The closing moments of the bout saw Hangman Page delivering his signature maneuver, the Deadeye, to Kenny Omega for a close two count. However, JR accidentally mentioned that Page pinned Kenny Omega.
In the heat of the moment, Don Callis yelled at him for his poor judgment. Fans sitting at home quickly caught their verbal dispute. There's no doubt that JR is the most decorated commentator of all time, but such errors put him under the radar of criticism these days.
