CM Punk, Sting and Darby Allin vs MJF and FTR on AEW Dynamite

CM Punk came out with face-paint on AEW Dynamite, paying tribute to Sting who was returing to the Greensboro Coliseum after nearly two decades.

It looked like MJF would start for his team but he soon tagged out. The babyfaces were all over Cash Wheeler early on.

With Darby Allin and Cash legal, he tagged MJF in. CM Punk tagged in for his team and this forced MJF to run out of the ring.

MJF and Sting both tagged in as the legal men. The Icon took MJF down with a clothesline and tagged CM Punk in.

Punk chased MJF out of the ring and into the crowd. They ran back to the ringside area and The Pinnacle Leader tagged out again. Sting and CM Punk faced off against MJF and FTR at ringside.

Allin came out of nowhere, flying through the air and knocking out MJF and FTR like bowling pins.

Back in the ring, Sting hit Dax Harwood with a vertical suplex before tagging CM Punk in.

Punk prevented Cash from tagging out before locking in an armbar. Darby Allin tagged in but Wheeler sent him crashing out of the ring.

The heels had Darby isolated in their corner at this point as they traded tags and continued to punish him. MJF tagged in and spat some water at CM Punk before turning his attention to Darby Allin.

The heels continued trading tags and working on Allin. Darby rolled up Cash Wheeler but only got a two-count. Both men tagged out at this point.

Sting and Dax Harwood came in as the legal men. The Icon was all over the heels. He dished out Stinger Splashes to both Wheeler and Harwood. Darby Allin followed it up with a Splash of his own followed by a knee strike from CM Punk.

Sting had the Scorpion Deathlock locked in on Dax Harwood but Cash broke it up while MJF had the referee distracted. The heels now had Sting isolated.

MJF came in and stomped Sting's knee while Harwood worked on his arm. Simulateanous clotheslines from Sting and Cash saw both men go down.

Dax quickly tagged in and went for his own Stinger Splash. Sting caught him in mid-air and hit a bodyslam. MJF tagged in and Sting hit him with a facebuster. Punk went after both members of FTR dishing out running knee strikes to both men followed by a bulldog/clothesline combo.

Punk went to follow up with the GTS but Cash tagged out.

Punk headed to the top rope but it proved to be a mistake. FTR were all over him until Darby Allin came in and took out Cash Wheeler.

Meanwhile, MJF was nowhere to be seen. He was then spotted hiding behind the timekeeper's table. Harwood and Punk traded right hands. Punk went for the GTS but FTR hit him with the Big Rig.

Sting broke it up and then tossed MJF out of the ring at FTR. Sting then rolled back the years and headed to the top rope, wiping out the heels.

Punk went to hit MJF with a GTS but Dax pushed him out of the ring. Punk then hit Dax with the GTS.

Darby followed it up with a Coffin Drop for the win. An incredible main event to close this week's AEW Dynamite and what a fantastic return to the Greensboro Coliseum for Sting.

Result: Sting, CM Punk and Darby Allin def. MJF and FTR
