AEW World Champion Jon Moxley has a huge target on his back as multiple top stars from the Tony Khan-led company are seemingly gunning for his belt. The title will no doubt be on the line at the promotion's upcoming event, Worlds End 2024.
As the pay-per-view approaches, speculations continue to abound regarding who might challenge The Purveyor of Violence for the company's top prize. On the latest episode of Dynamite, however, the promotion may have spoiled Moxley's potential challengers for the December 28 show.
What unfolded this week on AEW Dynamite?
On the December 4 edition of Dynamite, Jay White went one-on-one with PAC. Despite multiple instances of outside interference from the Englishman's trios partner Wheeler Yuta, The Switchblade managed to plant PAC with the Blade Runner to pick up the win. He even laid out Yuta after the match for good measure, but afterward would be confronted by Marina Shafir.

The Problem's arrival turned out to be a distraction, however, as White was promptly blindsided by Jon Moxley. The One True King of All Elite Wrestling hit White with a Paradigm Shift and was about to leave with Shafir until Hangman Page interrupted the proceedings. Moxley stared down his old rival on the entrance ramp until Orange Cassidy - disguised as a member of the broadcast team - began choking the leader of The Death Riders with a cord, weeks after his Full Gear 2024 world title match against Mox.
This led to a chaotic brawl breaking out, with Page attacking Moxley, and in turn, being attacked by PAC and Yuta. The latter would be taken out by Cassidy, who also knocked out the former Dean Ambrose with an Orange Punch. Moxley would then suffer a Blade Runner from White, and a Buckshot Lariat from The Cowboy. As The Death Riders recovered outside the ring, Christian Cage could be seen watching Moxley from the entrance tunnel holding his world title match contract.
Recent speculations about AEW World Championship match for Worlds End 2024
Notably, Adam Page, Christian Cage, and Jay White were all involved in the intriguing post-match angle following Jon Moxley's AEW World Title retention against Orange Cassidy at Full Gear. This birthed rumors that the aforementioned four men may square off at Worlds End for the All Elite World Championship.
A subsequent report from Bryan Alvarez, however, cast some doubt on The Patriarch's involvement in the speculated four-way AEW World Title match, despite indicating that The Hangman and King Switch will likely be in it.
Alvarez claimed:
"I believe that it is a four-way, in fact, I was flat out told it will be a four-way, but I was not told who the four were. I think [Hangman] Page, Jay [White] and Moxley are three of them, but I am also not sure Christian [Cage] is going to be the fourth guy, but if he's not, I don't know who the fourth guy is going to be," he said [H/T - WrestlingInc.]
Could Orange Cassidy be in the Worlds End AEW World Title four-way?
In light of the update mentioned above and the events that transpired this week on Dynamite, it seems that All Elite Wrestling might book Jon Moxley to defend his AEW World Championship against Hangman Page, Jay White, and Orange Cassidy in a four-way bout.
The Freshly Squeezed star would make a feasible alternative for Christian in the match, for at least two reasons. Firstly, OC is evidently not finished with Moxley, as the latter had help from Wheeler Yuta in beating him at Full Gear.
Secondly, Christian Cage, being an intelligent heel, may want to save his title shot for after Moxley's defense at the Worlds End PPV to cash in on him or whoever holds the belt at the end of the PPV.
