AEW Dynamite Results: CM Punk vs MJF, Paige Van Zant attacks former WWE personality, Hangman Page destroyed

AEW Dynamite Results (2nd February 2022): MJF vs CM Punk continued...

CM Punk headed to the top rope but spent a moment too long showboating on AEW Dynamite. MJF got to the ropes and sent Punk crashing down onto the turnbuckle.

Punk hit back with a Pepsi Twist and the fans were firmly behind the hometown hero. MJF pulled the referee in front of him to get a break and used the distraction to choke CM Punk out with a tape.

It looked like the match was over and the bell was rung but the referee spotted the tape MJF was using to choke out CM Punk. The referee then ordered the match to be restarted.

CM Punk was clearly angry when the match restarted and was all over MJF. During the ad break, MJF started to choke CM Punk with his wrist tape again but the referee spotted it early.

CM Punk caught MJF with a tope suicida out to ringside but seemed to be favouring his knee afterward. MJF took advantage of this briefly before Punk locked in an STF.

Punk went for the GTS but his knee gave way, giving MJF the advantage again. In a move of desperation, Punk hit the Pinnacle Leader with a reverse hurricanrana. MJF used his ring awareness to great use once again taking Punk down with a chopblock to the back of the knee.

MJF continued to punish Punk's knee, sending it crashing into the ringpost before going for a kneebar. Punk then hit a desperation move from the top rope, executing the Pepsi Plunge.

He couldn't get the cover in time as MJF rolled out of the ring. Punk headed to the top rope and hit a flying Elbow Drop but MJF kicked out at the last second. Punk looked to follow up with a GTS but the Salt Of The Earth rolled out of the ring.

We then saw Wardlow come out of the back. Mr. Mayhem went face to face with CM Punk but backed off as Punk rolled MJF into the ring.

The hometown hero was clearly distracted as MJF smacked him with the Dynamite Diamond Ring. That was enough to finish CM Punk off and MJF picked up the biggest win of his career so far.
