Cody vs Seth Gargis on AEW Dynamite
The inaugural AEW TNT Champion slammed Seth Gargis in the middle of the mat with a running power slam. After that, the Figure-4 Leglock put him away. Cody won in quite a dominant fashion.
Results: Cody defeated Seth Gargis via submission on AEW Dynamite.
Grade: D
After the match, Tony Schiavone asked Cody about his shoulder. Before Cody could answer, they were interrupted by Penta El Zero Miedo, who claimed he was 1000x better than The American Nightmare. Penta and Cody were both in that ladder match at AEW Revolution, but ultimately short.
Penta called himself the Lord of Lucha Libre and claimed that if he was more focused on Cody, he'd be unable to pick up his newborn baby girl. That was enough for Cody, who rushed Penta. They were separated by security and AEW wrestlers, but it's clearly not over.
The Best Friends pleaded for another tag team match against Miro and Kip Sabian. If they lost, Chuckie T would be Miro's butler forever.
However, as far as what the match would be, they'd circle the ring in arcade machines, vowing to put their heads through every single one. Orange Cassidy ended the threat, promising to break Miro and Kip.
Tony Schiavone brought out Sting, who was successful in his street fight with Darby Allin against Team Taz at AEW Revolution. Sting stated that the AEW TNT Champion was a very dangerous man. Combine that with somebody like the Stinger? That's a guaranteed win.
Sting was interrupted by AEW's Murderhawk Monster, Lance Archer, who demanded his own time to talk. Archer and Jake Roberts threatened Sting before stating that Archer was the real face of AEW's revolution, and would begin taking what he wanted going forward.
