Kenny Omega already held the AAA Mega Championship coming into his Full Gear 2019 brutality. The Best Bout Machine enjoyed tag team success with Adam Page, winning the AEW World Tag Team Championship against SCU.

The Cleaner would enjoy successful singles and tag title defenses against the likes of Sammy Guevara and the Young Bucks before joining his Elite faction in winning the first ever Stadium Stampede Match at Double or Nothing 2020 against the Inner Circle.

As relationships within the Elite faction grew unstable, Omega and Page would lose their tag titles to FTR and Omega would abandon the tag team to pursue singles success.

After reaching the World Title Eliminator Tournament Final at Full Gear 2020, including a 25 second win against Sonny Kiss, it was set for Adam Page to stand in front of Kenny Omega to determine the next challenger for Jon Moxley.

Omega defeated Page to win the tournament and set a Full Gear 2019 rematch against Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship.

On the Winter is Coming Dynamite episode the challenger aligned with Don Callis to dethrone Jon Moxley to become the third-ever AEW World Champion, announcing that he would be present on Impact Wrestling to tell-all.

At Impact Wrestling Rebellion 2021, Kenny Omega captured the Impact World Championship (Unified with the TNA Heavyweight Championship) in a Title vs Title Match that also saw his AEW World Championship on the line. In winning the match, Omega had succeeded in holding three different world championships sanctioned by three different promotions at one time.

Since losing the world title to Kenny Omega, Moxley has been responsible for a large influx of New Japan talent coming to AEW. He first defended his IWGP US title against KENTA (FKA Hideo Itami) at NJPW The New Beginning USA, following a tag team clash between KENTA & Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley & Lance Archer on Dynamite.

He would later defend the belt against Yuji Nagata on Dynamite before his reunion with Eddie Kingston saw the pair challenge the Young Bucks at Double or Nothing 2021, failing to claim the AEW tag titles.

Moxley would defend his IWGP US title against Karl Anderson before eventually losing to Lance Archer at Fyter Fest 2021 in a Texas Death Match. At NJPW Resurgence, Moxley teamed with former adversary Yuji Nagata to take on the Good Brothers only to lose.

At GCW The Art of War Games, Moxley answered an open challenge from GCW Heavyweight Champion Matt Cardona and subsequently captured the title, adding yet another world title to his resume.

The next day at All Out 2021, Moxley defeated NJPW legend Satoshi Kojima before Minoru Suzuki revealed himself to stage a clash on the following Dynamite. Moxley defeated Suzuki but their feud would continue when Suzuki was "enraged and disrespected" by having his ring entrance Kaze Ni Nare interrupted.
