AEW Full Gear Results: Former world champion debuts, Monumental title change, Wrestling legend spotted at ringside

Dr. Britt Baker (C) vs Tay Conti for the AEW Women's Championship

We got off to a fast-paced start to the AEW Women's World Championship match. Both competitors were evenly matched in the opening stages of the match. Tay Conti got an opening early, hitting her patented running pump kick in the corner. Conti headed to the middle rope but Dr. Britt Baker used this opening to kick her legs out from under her, following up with a neckbreaker.

Rebel then handed Britt Baker her glove but this bought Conti time to fight back with a Stunner, for a nearfall. Both women were on the apron as Conti went for a Gotch-style piledriver. Baker reversed it and hit a nasty looking Air Raid Crash on the hardest part of the ring. It wasn't enough to put the Brazlian star away.

Baker attempted a back slide but Conti reversed it and hit a Tay-KO for a nearfall of her own. Conti quickly struck back with a Gotch-style piledriver for another nearfall. Britt tried to roll Conti up but she kicked out. Rebel distracted the referee as Jamie Hayter pulled Conti out of the ring and slammed her into the steel steps.

Baker then hit a curb stomp into the steps before hitting a second Curb Stomp inside the ring. Britt then went for the Lockjaw but couldn't lock it in. Baker rolled out of the ring as Conti took out Rebel and Hayter with a moonsault.

She then hit Baker with a spinning neckbreaker and rolled her into the ring. DDTay wasn't enough to put Baker away. Baker finally rolled Conti up and picked up the win. After such a long match, the finish has to be a little disappointing, coming in the form of a roll-up.
