The champion made a strong start to the AEW match, taking Tay Conti down. Serena Deeb then blocked a kick from Tay Conti and took her down. Conti replied by locking in a Hell Hook as she looked for an upset.
Deeb took Tay Conti down with a wristlock before Conti replied with a triangle hold. It wasn't enough to stop Deeb in her tracks and the NWA Women's Champion replied with a running strike. Both women tried a roll-up but both got 2-counts. Conti replied with a pump kick as the AEW show cut to commercial.
Back from the break, Serena Deeb went for the Serenity Lock but Conti had it scouted. Deeb followed it by locking in a Gory Special against the top turnbuckle. Conti replied with another Pump Kick. Conti looked to follow it up with the Tay-KO but Deeb blocked it and successfully reverse. Serena Deeb then hit Tay Conti with the Detox and pinned her in the middle of the AEW ring. An excellent match ad a very impressive performance by Tay Conti.
