#1 AEW star Chris Jericho quashes rumor on his NJPW status
During his long and illustrious career, AEW star Chris Jericho had a brief stint with NJPW. The Painmaker pulled off some incredible feuds with the likes of Kenny Omega and Tetsua Naito.
Wrestling outlets have been suggesting that Chris Jericho was recently released by NJPW. To clear the air, Chris Jericho took to Twitter to bust their report by saying that the news they circulated was "hardly hot news":

"Hardly hot news....I haven’t been under contract with @njpw1972 since Jan 6, 2020", wrote Chris Jericho.
According to Dave Meltzer, NJPW president Harold Meij decided to cancel Chris Jericho's contract to help cover the losses they suffered due to the pandemic era.
Regardless, Chris Jericho is enjoying his current stint with AEW. He's remains the leader of the promotion's most popular faction, The Inner Circle.
Chris Jericho even went on to become the inaugural AEW World Champion. The Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla held the title for 182 days before dropping it to Jon Moxley.
Despite his long history with injuries, Chris Jericho is regarded as one of the best wrestlers going today.
