#3 AEW commentator reveals what the company thinks of Malakai Black
AEW's legendary commentator Jim Ross recently revealed that the company is very high on their latest signee, Malakai Black.
On the company's return to the road with the Road Rager edition of AEW Dynamite, Tommy End (a.k.a Malakai Black) stunningly appeared out of nowhere during an interview segment between Tony Schiavone and Arn Anderson. It was a bone-chilling moment for everyone watching from ringside. The former WWE superstar made an emphatic statement by delivering Arn Anderson and Cody Rhodes a Black Mass.
The segment created a buzz among the wrestling section of the world. AEW's Jim Ross, who was there commentating on the show, revealed some interesting revelations about meeting Malakai Black.
Appearing on the latest episode of Busted Open Radio, AEW's Jim Ross stated that he was shocked to see Malakai Black that night as he didn't see him in the building:
"The honest to God's truth is I didn't even know that he was there. We were in a unique building that was kind of old school and had different levels and different little cubby holes. It was funny, Mark [Henry] and Big Show and I shared a room for the announcers and, you know, I didn't see this guy all day long so I was shocked at how it came off," Jim Ross said.
Jim Ross then revealed his interaction with Black, where he told him that AEW sees him as one of the top stars who can carry the company forward:
"I saw him after the show. He shook my hand. I'd never met him before, he said he was glad to meet me, and likewise for me. I said, 'We're counting on you. We're counting on you to play in a big way. Not just come in and be one of the boys, but come in and be one of the stars.' I think he hadn't heard that in a while. I think it meant a lot to him," Jim Ross said.
Malakai Black had a unique in-ring ability and the charisma to be a top star of any company. But it remains to be seen if he will capitalize on the opportunity at AEW.
