#3. WWE Hall of Famer reveals how he'd recreate D Generation X in AEW
AEW boasts several talented stars who would be great in any era of wrestling. Among their ranks is the popular star from the Attitude Era, Billy Gunn.
The WWE Hall of Famer was a part of the iconic D Generation X stable that was a huge hit with the WWE audience during its heyday. AEW has a lot of factions, most notably the Inner Circle and the Pinnacle. Billy Gunn is in the Gunn Club himself.
Charlotte Flair to return and wrestle a CURRENT CHAMPION?
Riju Dasgupta of Sportskeeda Wrestling had the opportunity to pick the two-time WWE Hardcore Champion's brain and asked him to choose members from the AEW roster to create a modern-day D Generation X. This was his response:
"Woah, thats a good one. Wow, you've put me on the spot. So let's start with the leader. Who would be our leader, other than of course me, I'd be the most likely one. Let's take me out of that," said Gunn.
"I'm a big MJF fan. So, I'll go with MJF as the Triple H guy. X-Pac we'd have to go for Darby Allin. The New Aged Outlaws we'd have to go, let's go Young Bucks. Got to put them in there. They're kind of New Age Outlaw-ish. Our Chyna would have to be, let's go Ruby Soho as our Chyna," declared Gunn.
MJF as the leader would make sense. The Salt of the Earth is unquestionably the most detestable heel in AEW and has a great future ahead of him as a top star. The Young Bucks are an all-time great tag team so their spot is justified as well.
Chyna's role could be debated. As talented and impressive as Ruby Soho is, Jade Cargill resembles Chyna quite spectacularly. Both women were physical specimens, capable of taking down anyone.
Regardless, if AEW decides to venture down this route someday, it will be incredibly fascinating to see how Tony Khan executes such a stable.
