Welcome to another edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's AEW News and Rumor Roundup. Today, we're going to be taking a look at various news stories involving top stars such as Kenny Omega, Mercedes Mone, and more.

A former WWE personality made her blockbuster debut for All Elite Wrestling. A current AEW champion has also signed with another wrestling promotion. So, without any further ado, let's dive into all of these stories.

#5. Former WWE star makes blockbuster debut for AEW

A former WWE personality has officially made their debut for All Elite Wrestling. Jojo Offerman showed up before the beginning of Collision this week to be the special guest announcer for a dark match.

Jojo hasn't made many appearances for any wrestling promotion ever since she left WWE in 2021. It seems that she largely enjoyed her visit to Tony Khan's promotion. However, there is no confirmation yet regarding whether she will appear again or not. It would be quite interesting to see her take on a full-time role within the company.

#4. Update on Backstage heat on Rush and Dralistico

There is a new update on the alleged backstage heat around Rush and Dralistico. The two stars have been absent from programming for a while now. Both of them last appeared on the November 16 episode of Collision.

A new report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select via his Q&A session has confirmed that this absence was because of them dealing with backstage heat in AEW. The report stated that the creative team had originally planned for LFI to take the win in the Contender Series match against The Acclaimed.

However, the duo were reportedly involved in a backstage altercation following their match against Alec Prince and Richard Holliday on the November 15 episode of Rampage. People backstage were specifically angered by Rush and Dralistico's actions of getting physical against Holliday while he was being checked on by a medic.

#3. Mercedes Mone showed off a new look at Wrestle Dynasty

Mercedes Mone certainly made a big splash at this year's Wrestle Dynasty pay-per-view event. The NJPW Strong Women's Champion is famously known for her standout style and showed off a new look for her match against the Undisputed British Women's Champion, Mina Shirakawa in a Winner Takes All match.

The CEO Champion donned the Eternal Sailor Moon Ring Gear as she stepped into the contest, paying tribute to the Japanese animated character from the iconic manga. Mone would also emerge victorious against Shirakawa after planting her with her signature Mone Maker move.

#2. Current AEW champion officially signs with another top promotion

Konosuke Takeshita has been on a roll for some time now and continued his dominant run as AEW International Champion in Japan recently. The current golden boy of the Don Callis family competed at NJPW's two latest pay-per-view events, defeating Shingo Takagi and Tomohiro Ishii at WrestleKingdom 19 and Wrestle Dynasty respectively.

Takeshita then went on to make a stunning revelation in the Wrestle Dynasty post-match conference that he has signed an official contract with NJPW. The newly crowned NEVER Openweight champion is now part of three major promotions including AEW, and DDT Pro as well.

#1. Kenny Omega defeated 27-year-old star on in-ring return at Wrestle Dynasty

Kenny Omega has officially made his return to the ring after being out for more than a year following a diverticulitis diagnosis and surgery. The Best Bout Machine stepped into the squared circle to take on Gabe Kidd at Wrestle Dynasty 2025 at the Tokyo Dome.

The much-anticipated match was a brutal affair as expected, as weapons such as chairs and tables came into effect in the match. Both stars got busted open and still put on a stunning performance for the fans. However, The Cleaner ended up with his hand raised after defeating Kidd in a 30+ minute thriller.

We're going to have to wait and see what is next for Kenny Omega now and what move would he pull next after also making his return to AEW at Worlds End 2024.
