Jon Moxley and his soldiers, The Death Riders, have been running roughshod in AEW for months now. The Cincinnati native left his mark on the company's programming last year, ending Bryan Danielson's full-time career, dethroning him for the World Championship, attacking talent and personnel, and even putting a violent end to the promotion's Friday night show, Rampage.

The One True King of All Elite Wrestling is seemingly resolved to protect his World Title from challengers he deems unworthy. However, as the company steps into 2025, Moxley finds himself surrounded by enemies looking to take him out, which perhaps indicates that his reign of terror will reach its conclusion soon.

As such, let us examine five indications of Jon Moxley's potentially imminent downfall in AEW.

#1: The Death Riders suffered a huge loss on AEW Dynamite

Recently, the Death Riders have been an unstoppable force on All Elite Wrestling television. The stable members consistently terrorize the AEW roster, using unexpected hit-and-run strategies to take out lower-card performers and top talent alike, forcing the locker room to band together for survival.

However, the faction suffered a major blow this week on Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen, where Moxley, Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta lost to Rated FTR in trios action. The episode concluded with The Cash Wheeler, Dax Harwood, and Adam Copeland securing the win by delivering a Shatter Machine and a spear to Yuta.

The former BCC members are generally seen to dominate their competition, regardless of wins and losses. Their defeat at the hands of FTR and Cope may have significantly damaged their reputation.

#2: Adam Copeland will push Jon Moxley to his limit

Jon Moxley is facing possibly one of his toughest obstacles in the form of Adam Copeland. The Rated-R Superstar made it clear at the Worlds End press scrum last year that he was gunning for the former Dean Ambrose's AEW World Championship.

Copeland issued another warning to Mox this week on Dynamite, reminding him of his penchant for pro wrestling violence. The WWE Hall of Famer is no stranger to high-stakes World Title matches, and neither is The Purveyor of Violence.

Thus, the two men will probably fight for the belt on a major pay-per-view, such as Revolution 2025 or Double or Nothing, where The Ultimate Opportunist successfully defended his TNT Championship last year. They may also fight in a hardcore no-disqualification bout.

Although he may not win, Cope could dish out much damage to Moxley, with the latter surviving by the skin of his teeth.

#3: Jon Moxley has unfinished business with two past contenders

At Worlds End 2024, Jon Moxley retained his belt against Orange Cassidy, Jay White, and Hangman Page in a four-way bout, pinning The Switchblade courtesy of Marina Shafir and Wheeler Yuta's interference.

However, the Bang Bang Gang member bounced back on Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen, beating Roderick Strong and Swerve Strickland in a triple-threat bout and securing his spot in next week's Casino Gauntlet Match for another crack at Moxley on Dynamite: Maximum Carnage.

Moxley's other Worlds End opponents, Adam Page and Orange Cassidy, squared off on this week's Dynamite, with The Cowboy emerging victorious. Page has been open about his goal of reclaiming the AEW World Championship from Moxley. The Virginia native has a storied rivalry with the current title holder, which both men could resume in the coming months to build up a singles clash for the belt, possibly at Revolution 2025 - the same event where Page submitted Moxley two years ago.

Even if the self-proclaimed King of AEW retains against White and Page one-on-one, the task will certainly be no easy feat, and the champion may wear down as the year progresses.

#4: New challengers have voiced interest in the AEW World Title

Fresh off of his victory over best-friend-turned-bitter rival Adam Cole at Worlds End, MJF declared that he was setting his focus on reclaiming the AEW World Championship. The Wolf of Wrestling alerted Jon Moxley of his intention of regaining his prized "Triple B," alluding to beating the latter for the belt at Full Gear 2022.

Furthermore, on Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen, Hall of Famer and veteran Jeff Jarrett announced that he was also going to pursue the top belt of the company's men's division. To that end, Double J declared his participation in next week's Casino Gauntlet.

With more and more people stepping up to try and take his throne, Moxley's run as World Champion seems to be resting on increasingly shaky grounds.

#5: Darby Allin to take down Jon Moxley

Since the beginning of Jon Moxley's heel turn, Darby Allin has been a key rival in the Death Riders' storyline. The face-painted daredevil went to great lengths to take out the villainous stable, but the latter eventually retaliated in gruesome fashion, destroying the former TNT Champion's neck on Rampage: New Year's Smash, after which Moxley kicked him down a flight of stairs in a horrifying spot.

For many months, All Elite Wrestling has been hinting at the prospect of Allin becoming World Champion. Viewers and experts have also argued that the 31-year-old is the most suitable name to dethrone Jon Moxley, especially considering their story. Moxley brutalizing Allin on Rampage may have laid the groundwork for the latter, who eventually returned to the promotion and challenged him for his belt again.

Such a bout could unfold at the grand stage of All In: Texas, where Allin could dethrone Moxley to become the AEW World Champion, possibly with an assist from his retired partner Sting, and fulfill The Icon's prophesy in the process.
