This week, WWE Hall of Famer Adam Copeland (fka Edge) officially changed his ring name in AEW over a year after his debut. Another top All Elite Wrestling star could follow suit and change his moniker.
On Wednesday's AEW Dynamite, Adam Copeland (fka Edge) surprisingly came out with a new ring name, Cope. The Rated-R Superstar has officially shortened his moniker after using his real name since his All Elite Wrestling debut. The former WWE star in question, Ricochet, could also change his name similar to Copeland.
Months after his AEW debut at All In 2024, Ricochet has adopted a heel character. He has been receiving major heat from fans at events, with many throwing toilet paper at him. Considering his new and evolved character, the former WWE Superstar needs a change of name.

The Future of Flight doesn't need to look further than his real name, Trevor Mann, which might suit his new villainous character. This week on Dynamite, Ricochet made Swerve Strickland bleed with a pair of scissors, which seemingly positioned him as a top heel on the roster. Amid their feud, Strickland has been calling the former Speed Champion by his real name, Trevor.
Changing his ring name to Trevor Mann could be a perfect way for Ricochet to transition from a beloved babyface to a menacing heel.
Cope (fka Edge) won his first match back
At AEW Worlds End 2024, Adam Copland (fka Edge) made his blockbuster return to confront Jon Moxley and The Death Riders. Later, Cope teamed up with FTR to take on Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta on Dynamite this week. Cope, along with FTR, secured the win over the heels in his first match since Double or Nothing 2024.
The rivalry between Rated FTR and The Death Riders is expected to be one of the biggest feuds of 2025. Only time will tell which team ultimately reigns supreme.
