#2. Britt Baker won several championships in a short time before becoming the first woman to sign with AEW
Before joining AEW, Britt Baker worked on several different independent promotions. The wrestler proved to be successful in many of them, and that allowed her to get a big boost in her career.
Britt Baker made her professional wrestling debut at an International Wrestling Cartel (IWC) event in 2015. She ended up winning the IWC Women's Championship twice in her career. It took her just four years to sign on to one of the biggest wrestling promotions in the world today.
In 2019, Britt Baker became the first woman to sign with AEW. This put a lot of pressure on Baker, who had to prove herself once again.
“I always like to keep the mentality that the next big thing is steps ahead of you, because if not it's really easy to get discouraged and stay down on yourself. But I definitely did not see [2019] being quite so explosive in my world, per se," Baker told Sportskeeda. "I was the first woman signed to AEW so I was catapulted right away to the top just for that basic fact... But now there's a Women's Championship introduced, so now to be the best you have to be the champion. So I don't want to just be the first woman signed anymore, I want to be the World Champion and that's exactly what I'm gonna do."
Baker spoke to Sportskeeda last year about her ambition to win the world title, and she did just that at AEW Double or Nothing 2021. Sky's the limit for Baker, who is now one of the most recognizable female wrestlers in the industry.
