Chris Jericho has been the ROH Champion since he defeated Mark Briscoe on the 23rd October episode of AEW Dynamite. In search of his next challenger, he issued an open challenge on the December 5th episode of ROH on Honorclub. To everyone's surprise, Matt Cardona answered his challenge for a title match at Final Battle.
Matt Cardona could very well prove to be Jericho's toughest opponent in his current reign. But for Cardona to win the title, something big will need to take place. Something like a betrayal. And the perfect person to do this could be Big Bill.
Big Bill has been by the Learning Tree's side for the past several months. As a result, he has been learning from one of the biggest masterminds in the industry which could prove useful to him. Bill could use all that he learned from Jericho to finally betray him and cost him the title. Although Big Bill has not teased turning on his mentor, this could be all part of his ruse so that the Learning Tree doesn't see it coming. A massive betrayal like this could also be beneficial to ROH as it could get more eyes on the product.
