CM Punk receives a legal notice from AEW - Reports

There has been another update regarding CM Punk's stance with AEW

There has been another development in the ongoing saga between All Elite Wrestling and CM Punk, where it has been reported that AEW has now sent a legal letter to The Straight Edge Superstar.

It was rumored for a while that Punk would be making his return to the company after being nine months away on the debut episode of Collision, which is set to air on June 17th. However, he wasn't mentioned in any of the promotional material as news broke that he has once again fallen out with AEW.

The reason being CM Punk's close friend Ace Steel, who was fired following his actions in the Brawl Out incident, was set to be brought back to the company on a remote basis, which Punk didn't agree with as he wanted Steel with him at the Collision premiere.

With all that being said, former president of Wrestling Inc., Raj Giri, has claimed on Twitter that AEW has sent a legal notice to their former world champion, with the idea being that if Punk doesn't comply with AEW's wishes, All Elite Wrestling will file a lawsuit against him.

"AEW sent a legal notice to Punk yesterday that he either has to comply or they're gonna file a suit against him." said Raj Giri. (H/T Cultaholic)

There have been conflicting reports as of late surrounding CM Punk, Ace Steel, and their positions within AEW, but until the Collision premiere takes place, expect more updates relating to this ever-expanding story.

AEW Collision might not debut in CM Punk's hometown

The original plan was to have AEW Collision's debut episode take place at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, the same building where CM Punk made his debut for the company. The debut episode was even set to have its own special name, "The Second Coming."

However, that might have to change due to Punk's frosty relationship with AEW at the time of writing, with Tony Khan set to announce the location of Collision's debut this week on Dynamite.

The idea is to have Daily's Place in Jacksonville, Florida, as the backup venue if the United Center plan falls through, as that building was home to all of AEW's events during the COVID-19 pandemic.
