Darby Allin (birth name: Samuel Ratsch), the American expert grappler is currently performing on All Elite Wrestling (AEW) since 2019. He won the Dynamite Award for Male Breakout Star of the Year in the male category in 2021 and also won the AEW TNT Championship (two times). Darby is the winner of AEW’s Royal Rampage in 2023.
He previously worked for several autonomous circuits like EVOLVE Wrestling, Full Impact Pro, Game Changer Wrestling (GCW), The Wrestling REVOLVER, Pro Wrestling Guerilla, Blue Collar Wrestling, Major League Wrestling, Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, Progress Wrestling. Professional wrestling career
Darby Allin started his professional wrestling career in the independent circuit in 2014. He made his debut at Blue Collar Wrestling as Darby Graves. He signed for World Wrestling Network in the year 2016. Then he went on to sign for Style Battle in 2017. After his departure from the promotion, he signed for Full Impact Pro in the same year. He left the promotion after three years in 2019. During this time Darby also worked for Major League Wrestling (2017–2018), Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (2018), and Progress Wrestling (2018–2019).
After signing an agreement with All Elite Wrestling in 2019, Darby Allin won his first title in the promotion at Full Gear in 2020 by defeating Cody Rhodes. He defended the title against Brian Cage at New Year's Smash Night 2 in 2021, and against Scorpio Sky at an episode of Dynamite in the same year. He also beat John Silver, JD Drake, The Butcher, Jungle Boy, and Dark Order's 10. Darby lost his title to Miro after his reign of 186 days as the titleholder. He regained his title in front of his hometown crowd in 2023 after beating the champion Samoa Joe. He defended the title four times in four consecutive weeks before losing it to the same opponent in a No Holds Barred match. This ended Darby's second reign of 28 days as a champion.
