Drew McIntyre could use an assist from an AEW star to prevail over CM Punk in their current rivalry on WWE RAW. The star being discussed here is Ricky Starks.
The Absolute star hasn't been featured on AEW TV since March 2024. Reports suggest that he turned down pitches from the writers for returning to the promotion. A recent report claimed that Ricky Starks is heading to WWE after his existing contract expires.
At All Out 2023, Ricky was scheduled to face CM Punk after a heated rivalry. However, the latter's physical altercation with Jack Perry at All In led to his subsequent firing from the company. Therefore, the original match was scrapped and Bryan Danielson replaced The Second City Saint. This did not sit well with Starks who later expressed frustration about the alteration.
Meanwhile, The Voice of the Voiceless returned to WWE and is currently feuding with Drew McIntyre. The duo squared off at SummerSlam in an impressive match and McIntyre picked up the victory in the bout. However, CM Punk showed up on the recent edition of RAW and was unmoved following the defeat.

The Scottish Warrior may need some backup to take down The Voice of the Voiceless. He might take the help of the potentially debuting Ricky Starks, using the fact that the star had differences with CM Punk in AEW. This could also reignite their feud from the Jacksonville-based promotion over to WWE.
Ricky Starks spoke about his relationship with CM Punk
Many fans criticized The Second City Saint after he left AEW and returned to WWE. Several claimed he didn't do anything significant for the company during his stint.
While speaking with WhatCulture, the Absolute star shut down the criticism and said that he didn't have any issues with Punk. In fact, the star went on to state that Punk had done nothing wrong with him and defended him for having a different opinion, which may not suit others.
"I have no issues with [CM] Punk, I don’t give a f*ck what anybody tries to tell me, I don’t care. He has never done me wrong and you can have your opinions on him, but you shouldn’t vilify someone for thinking differently than you. And I will say that until I’m blue in the face," he said.
It will be interesting to see how Ricky Starks would be booked in WWE if he does make the move as rumored.
