A former AEW World Tag Team Champion could make his rumored WWE debut and go after Shinsuke Nakamura. Shinsuke recently became the US Champion and would be looking for new challengers.
At the recent Survivor Series: War Games 2024 PLE, Shinsuke Nakamura shocked everyone by defeating LA Knight to become the United States Champion shortly after his return. With Nakamura having the title, the former AEW star in question, Penta El Zero Miedo, could make his WWE debut and go after him and the title.
Penta has been rumored to join the Stamford-based promotion for quite some time and is now reportedly a free agent. Although Penta's brother, Rey Fenix, was also rumored to sign with WWE, his AEW contract status remains uncertain. Therefore, Penta El Zero Miedo is expected to arrive at Stamford-based promotion as a singles star.

Assuming Penta will make his debut on SmackDown, Triple H could immediately put him into the United States Title picture and have him feud with the current Champion, Nakamura. Furthermore, a match between Penta and an Evil Nakamura could be great from a visual standpoint as well as the in-ring athleticism.
The reason why Shinsuke Nakamura won the United States title at the WWE Survivor Series
Nakamura returned to WWE TV a few weeks ago with a new evil look. Fans were surprised when Nakamura captured the United States Championship from LA Knight at Survivor Series recently.
Meanwhile, Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Daily claimed that Nakamura won the US title because of his upcoming match against Ulka Sasaki in Japan, and NOAH pushed for the title win:
“Shinsuke Nakamura’s U.S. Title win was pushed big in NOAH because Nakamura vs. Ulka Sasaki will be on the NOAH 1/1 show at Budokan Hall,” Dave noted.
Moreover, only time will tell what Triple H has in store for Shinsuke as the United States Champion.
