Former WWE Champion, Bryan Danielson, is expected to retire from full-time competition in AEW at the end of this year. The American Dragon could potentially leave the Jacksonville-based promotion to return to the global juggernaut and end his career at WrestleMania 41 next year.
Danielson signed with AEW in 2021 and has had some of the best matches of his career in the promotion. However, The veteran will be retiring from full-time action later this year after suffering some major injuries. Bryan's AEW contract is also set to run out soon which brings up many potential scenarios about his future.
It was recently reported that The American Dragon was set to leave All Elite Wrestling in October, however, his contract with the company will expire before that. He will likely compete in his final match at the All-In pay-per-view event against the World Champion in August if he manages to win the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
The 43-year-old star leaving All Elite Wrestling to return to WWE could be a major move in his career and he could have some great storylines waiting for him which could play out into his eventual retirement match at WrestleMania 41.

A feud against CM Punk
The controversial CM Punk left AEW to return to WWE last year after his backstage altercation with Jack Perry at All In last year. Bryan Danielson has been vocal about Punk's wrongdoings backstage in AEW, after the latter's firing.
If Danielson decided to return to the Stamford-based promotion, the real-life drama could be turned into a huge retirement storyline for WrestleMania 41. The story can make for some great television content like we have seen currently with the Drew McIntyre and Punk feud.
Challenging Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship
Cody Rhodes and Bryan Danielson are no strangers to each other. Both men were a part of AEW at the same time however, they never faced off in a match in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
The American Nightmare is the current Undisputed WWE Champion. Danielson could head back to WWE and challenge Rhodes for the World Title at WrestleMania 41. The veteran could play the underdog in the storyline and lead the Yes Movement into WrestleMania next year.
Payback against Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns successfully defeated Bryan Danielson in a Career vs. Championship match on an episode of SmackDown in 2021. After the match, Bryan left WWE to go on to shock the world by signing with All Elite Wrestling.
The American Dragon's AEW contract is set to run out soon and a return to WWE to reignite his heated rivalry against Reigns and maybe even exacting revenge on The Tribal Chief could be a great storyline.
Bryan Danielson has stated before that he loves to work for All Elite Wrestling. It will be interesting to see if he ends up returning to WWE after his contract ends.
